We have been with friends and stayed in an oceanfront 5brm Villa up at Tanah Lot (on the golf course for the golfing husbands) for a few nights then moved down to Legian. It was a very relaxing way to spend the first few days (organised in Villa massages, etc) and then go into Legian (it's in the middle of Kuta & Seminyak) for the shopping, restaurants, etc.....

So maybe a Villa somewhere for everyone to get into the Bali mood and then move down into the busier part of Legian/Seminyak???

We like staying at the Puri Raja in Legian (on the beachfront) in Deluxe Rooms.

If you organise a driver before you go it's very easy to move from one area to another.

Please go to the front of the forum and the pinned post "Top Questions about Bali". In this post you need to read the thread on the Areas of Bali and what they offer. and you also need to read the threads on diving areas of Bali. It would be helpful if you looked at a map of Bali while reading these threads.

The areas suggested in post 1 are not convenient for diving and snorkelling. You would need to travel for up to 4- 6 hours per day to get any decent diving, or take a boat trip from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan.

So please choose your area wisely for diving to avoid the time and extra expense of travel.
