Hello! We have booked to do the Hop On Hop Off all day Wine Tour in Queenstown on a Thursday. Does anyone have any recommendations of the best vineyards to visit? I was going to read up on all the locations too so that we can best plan it but any thoughts, recommendations or advice from others who have done the HOHO tour would also be most appreciated. Thank you.

Of the possible options listed -

Mora is a popular spot for brunch/ lunch; as well as wine tasting

Amisfield - very well known wine, and consistently the top restaurant and top chef in NZ (though the restaurant experience is a particular 'taste' and high budget)

Kinross another popular lunch spot; and their tastings bring together a whole lot of local vineyards too small for their own tasting room.

Mt Rosa - haven't been to their new tasting room - but was previously a good spot

Gibbston Tavern - great pizza and chips

Bungy centre - great for watching people jump off the bridge

Gibbston Winery is a popular place - the cave tour is interesting - ither than the cave, it's not my sort of place.

Not listed as stops - Peregrine (free tasting)

Chard Farm (bit of a trek out a challenging road - not bus friendly).

Broken Heart Gin is a good tasting, even if you're not a big gin drinker - but also easily accessible from downtown (10min away in Arthurs Point).
