Honeymooners in Queenstown

Hi, planning on honeymoon in Queenstown from Australia 2-6th of March 2019. Would like to stay within walking distance to downtown & have nice views of lake + mountains.

Qt & sofitel look good... any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also not into any extreme sports/activities but would like to do a short hike close by.

Any other must sees in the area or good reccomendations would be awesome.

Thanks.

Welcome to TA NZ, a trip to this area is not complete without seeing the Glenorchy area. The skippers canyon is also worth considering.

Consider a day trip by coach to Milford Sound. It will be a whole day but the scenery will be well worth it.

Sofitel does not lake or much in the way of mountain views, it's a beautiful hotel but if you expect big views, you're in the wrong place. Try Crowne Plaza, Peppers, Hotel St Moritz, QT Queenstown, Eichardts and a handful of rooms at Novotel for hotels close to the CBD with lake views.

Define a short hike. For some this would be 45 minutes, for others it might be a half day. Queenstown Hill is pretty straightforward or perhaps the Tiki Trail upto Skyline Gondola.

Bob's Cove and Mount Crichton Loop are other nice hikes nearby.
