Hi people .. We're 4 reasonably fit 60+ seniors trying (WITH MOUNTING ANXIETY!) to organize our much anticipated NZ holiday. We would REALLY appreciate any help you could give us in way of itinerary of places to go, how long we should stay, and things to see. We're travelling in November.
We're staying the first 5 days in the nth island (which we've already organized), then we fly to Queenstown where we intend to spend another 10-11 days touring the sth island with a hire car. We'll be returning to Perth from Christchurch.
We're into beautiful scenery (lakes, waterfalls, gardens, penguins & seals in possible, but not extreme sports, museums or wine tastings.
We want to go to Milford Sound, TSS Earnslaw cruise from Queenstown and Glacier Explorer in Mt Cook. Anything else you could recommend and anywhere we could visit ourslelves (budget friendly) that you could suggest also.
Would you suggest we go to Te Anau for a couple of days and go to Milford Sound from there (by tour bus or self drive?) OR hold off hiring the car on the first day in Queenstown and do the tour bus to Milford from there?
Looking forward to any responses and thanking you so much in advance.
