Time for dinner

We have been to Madrid before in May and we enjoyed dining late (after 10.00pm), going to bed even later and having an afternoon nap in the heat. Next time we are going in late November. Do people still eat as late? If I book restaurants at 9.00 pm or earlier, are we dining alone?

One other specific query - last time we enjoyed post midnight coffee at Cafe de Oriente on the big square overlooking the Palacio Real, with the power of the patio heater, is this likely to be possible there in November, or perhaps you can recommend your favourite outdoor spot for a nightcap

9 will have other diners but not packed yet; anything earlier than that and you'll be eating alone 😁

9 is perfect. Earlier you will find other tourists probably.

Madrid adapts yo seasons do the summer fans and misters are replaced by heaters and blankets on outdoor terrazas. Dining times stay the same all year round. 9pm is fine for reserving a table, but you may find that some places do not serve before 9pm, and those which do will either be too touristy or lacking atmosphere.

between 9 and 10:30 pm is a normal time for a restaurant booking.

However in November things are a bit different than in summertime, there is no summer heat in the middle of the day and no need to hide in the shade. And it will be colder at night.

Remember too that it may vary somewhat by day (or evening) of the week. A little earlier mid week than weekend. And myscreeen 123 is both hot and spot on.

Is 9 PM the standard dining hour, even in Dec.?
