Sixt, book early for the best prices. No gimmicks or dodgy fuel and insurance practices.
Another vote from me for Sixt. You can check in online prior to travel and that saves time on collection of vehicle.I see finca-es-castell recommends Vanrell and as he is local and is an attentive hotelier who books cars for his guests they must be good too.
Hi, Thank you for your responses..I am thinking ahead to a busy August Sunday..What are sixt like for their pick up/ drop off process. Thanks.
You can collect from the office they have in the car park. No need to wait in a long line in the terminal.
The whole process normally takes less than 5 minutes.
Edited: 10 years agoHere's another vote for Sixt; for the same reasons as highlighted above. Book months ahead for a decent price; and paying in advance gets a slightly better price and includes 'free' additional driver. You can checkin online some time before you depart for your trip to Mallorca, and that speeds up the process at Palma airport (but it's usually quick and efficient with Sixt anyway)
Another vote for Sixt - used them in October and had all the paperwork sorted long before the luggage came off the belt! Quick, efficient, no need to prepay for fuel, can fill up on way back to the airport - cost us 25 euros to top up our Golf at the end of the week as opposed to the "pay the extra insurance and tank of fuel when you arrive" that the cheaper operators use. Knew what I had paid before I left, 2nd driver included, all insurance included so no worries about checking for miniscule scratches on the car. There were only 3 people ahead of me in the queue at Sixt - Gold car and I think it was Record had queues stretching half way around the terminal!
Drop off was just as easy, park up, attendant there within seconds, quick look at speedo and fuel gauge, took the keys and bye bye!

crazypom 3 weeks ago when I collected from Sixt at PMI having previously checked in online, the facility for going straight to their garage at rear left quarter ground floor of the multi-storey car park ,had been suspended. I had to take my printout to the bureau in the terminal Arrivals. There was no queue there then.
Whilst i appriciate sixt maybe a quality company i have just priced for my next trip in december.
7 days with Sixt i.e corsa = €111
7 days with record i.e fiesta €43 but with discount €39
I appriciate i will pay €85 for a full tank, which i will use, i picked up a car from record 11 days ago & there was only 1 guy waiting at the counter,so i had the keys in my hands in no time at all, yes i also appriciate summer months will be different, the queue's can be very long.
October i waited 1 hour exactly but what a saving i made compared to sixt.
I am all up for saving a few quid but I am looking for a stress free transition from arrivals hall to driving away more than anything especially with the kids in tow. I have used Centauro before and it involved jumping on thir mini bus for 5 mins and going to their office just on way out of airport, Nice car and stress free but prices seem steep this year.
Sixt are pretty much faultless, but expensive, if you can book well in advance and are happy to pay up front for the occasional trip once or twice a year then you won't go wrong. It's stress free.
