Can he wait in baggage collection? Thanks... It's been a few yrs since we were there and iv forgotten the layout

At the last count, there were 19 carousels so you might struggle to find each other unless your son watches the carousel screens in baggage claim and waits at the one for your flight.

There is a 'VIPs' cafe in the T3 public arrivals area which is open from 07:30 to midnight. It's called VIP's but is open to everyone!

You probably won't be at the same terminal as Schengen flights go through T3 whereas non-Schengen go through T2. Fortunately both have the same exit. There is a small café-bar just outside the exit where you can watch everyone coming out (if you sit at one of the outside tables).

Thanks.. Yes just found out their Ryan air one lands at 3 and we are 2.

So if they wait at the cafe and watch for us to land, I presuming that they can then go stand at the door and wait for us to come out?

Terminals 1, 2 & 3 are all connected together, not like Heathrow and Manchester where the terminals are some distance apart.

Passengers arriving at T2 have to walk through T3 to get to the exit.

I would suggest that you go with the VIPs suggestion. It is directly opposite the exit point from baggage reclaim, within the arrivals area and big enough to be unmissable. It is also indoors. The weather now is unpredictable and you don't want to be waiting outside if there is a gale and the temperature has dropped when you can be nice and cosy indoors.

We always meet guests at VIPs and so far haven't had one who found it hard to find.
