Airport etc

Hello

We are travelling to Almeria in October with my father in law who uses a walking stick. We are travelling with Thomas Cook. Just wondering if we have to walk down the steps of the plane to disembark or whether they bring up a gantry straight into the airport?

Thanks

Very small/basic airport, short walk to/from plane to terminal. Steps off the plane, if you request special assistance from your airline you will be fine.

All boarding and disembarking at Almería appears to be steps only, no sky bridge, and walking to/from aircraft and terminal building. Special assistance with lift us available, but not sure how this is requested

On your booking form there should be a tab you can click on to request assistance. The airports here are very user friendly. There is no charge but I gave the helper a few euros. They will want you to stay until everyone else has disembarked and you will be able to accompany him.

Yes its a good service, book special assistance through the airline and they bring a lift on a truck, your last off the plane but they drive you straight to the terminal, wheel you through customs etc and get your luggage. You end up beating the rest of the passengers out of the terminal. Its great for boarding in the UK also.

Hi

I'm going to Almería in a few weeks. I was thinking of catching the L30 into the city. My hotel has already told me where to get off.

I was wondering how to pay the driver? Is it only with a smart card (like oyster in London) or does cash also work?

Ok. I made it. I'm in Almería right now. Got here 2 days ago. I caught the No.30 bus. It doesn't say "L" on the buses here, just the number. See the link below. It contains a pdf of the route for No.30. It's a circular route so make sure you catch the bus going in your direction. Unfortunately I got on the wrong one but after talking to other passengers I got off after a couple of stops, crossed the road and got on the correct bus.

The driver does accept cash. It cost €1.05 for a single journey.
