Galway budget restaurants

We'll be in Galway in August for 2 nights and are looking for good budget dining and pubs. We will have a car but prefer to leave it parked and walk to restaurants & pubs in the evening form our lodging (Prague House).

I have read that these may be good choices in the area:

Ard Bia at Nimmos

Roundstone O'Dowd's

Fisherman Seafood Bar and Grill in Salthill

McDonagh's on Quay Street Galway

Fish and Chips at Hooked is located on Henry Street

Griffin's Bakery Shop Street

Cupán Tae

Are there others that you might recommend?

Hooked on Henry Street is a great choice!

We also enjoyed Griffins-a lot.

Dough Bros has super pizza.

Murphy's Ice Cream is a great place for dessert ( if you don't get a pastry at Griffins that is).

Lots of great choices in Galway.

You might want to do a search for "early bird specials" in Galway. Many restaurants offer a set menu, which can be a really good value. (BTW, we've noticed generally the early birds in Ireland are not nearly as early as the US, so, you won't have to have dinner at 3PM).
