Not sure if topless sunbathing is allowed. We didn't see anyone doing it though. The resort has quite a few activities you can do during the day such as a spa, gym, tennis courts, volleyball on the beach, ping pong, or you could go golfing. The entertainment staff also has different things going on during the day, such as aerobics, yoga, dance lessons, cooking classes. You could also sign up for the usual water activities like diving, kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing, but they're not free.

While we were their in the evenings they had a mexican night, which was a buffet dinner and a mexican show afterwards.Anouther night they did a Carribean night which was a buffet and a show.A chiefs night a buffet with music from around the world afterwards. They had a couple of bands and a hypnotist. The hypnotist was hilarious. We danced in desirees a few times.I did see topless sunbathing at the beach, at anyone time I think four women were topless along the entire beach. Also a trip into Playa del Carmen is a good idea.Enjoy.

Topless sunbathing is allowed both at the resorts and on the beach, however, we experienced a very low percentage. Like 1 out of 10 maybe. Was a shock if you have your kids with you.

Purplerain is right. I think a lot of the shows are the same each week. There seems to be something going on each night. We also had the Mexican Night, the Caribbean Night, and the hypnotist. There was also a Casino Night and they had a juggler another night. They also "Rod Stewart" one night as well as the "Rolling Stones" on another night. That's about it for the nightlife. But if you want real nightlife and stuff, you'll probably have to go into town (5th Ave.)

I agree w/ Shawn ~ There is some nightlife; but not a lot of partying going on there, that's for sure. We went into playa one night to get a little crazy, started at Carlos & Charlies & then the Tequila Barrel. By the time we were ready to be picked up by the Secrets transporation; we were pretty much trashed. Tequila was a flowing if you know what I mean. That same night, back at the resort, they had a really good rock band that placed in the Desires Nightclub. Don't miss this !!! It's by far the best nightly entertainment there. It was on a Wednesday night back on 2/7/07 when we were there. Also they had an acoustic band (2 guys) that played right on the beach (thurs nite that week); we grabbed seats on the outdoor couches... this was also very relaxing/fun at same time. Of course they had bar service out there so your never without. The nightlife around there will also depend on the guests at the resort that week. It seemed like there was quite a few young couples, mostly honeymooners; which of course at to the fun in the pool as well as in the evenings. I did notice a large amount of older couples as well. Good blend though, I am 38 & my husband turned 50 while we were there. That's why the tequila was flowing. Don't forget to go into town at least once/ sign up for free transporation w/ your conceirge at either 6 or 7 p.m. each evening. They will then pick you up at same spot at 8 or 9 p.m. Take a cab back if your having fun & there's nothing exciting going on at the resort. Cost is $12 each way. They are everywhere. Have fun...
