Help selecting AI

My husband are looking to travel to Cancun in June and could use some help narrowing down the AI options. Our priorities are seaweed free beach (huge bonus if there are fun waves to play in or fish to see) and good food. Budget is open. Adults only is preferred, but not required. Would like a resort that isn't too quite or void of activities as well. Another bonus would be walkable to shopping, but again that's only a nice to have.

Thanks in advance!

No way to know about seaweed free beach unless you go to Isla Mujeres or Cozumel and it doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for. Playa Mujeres has had more luck than Cancun and further south, so maybe try there. The Majestic Elegance has an AO section that might work, no shopping or anywhere but other resorts to walk to close by. Expensive taxi into Cancun if yu do that or you can ferry across to Isla for the day.

So to say but the sargassum will be back in June. Of course, there are pockets that don’t have any so people might have to walk to beach a little to find a good spot to enter.

Hotel zone is shaped like the #7. Top of the 7 will have a calm beach you can get in and swim. The beach is rockier at the top and beach is more narrow. The stem of 7 you can walk for miles and miles with a wide beach and no rocks. You can get in the water but definitely not go for a real swim. The waves are harder than on top of 7. Definitely cross off Playa Del Carmen they get hit harder with sargassum than Cancun. You can pull up a map that shows all the hotels and what it’s close too. Good luck

Are you wanting to stay in Cancun or open to other areas? Of course, if choosing the other areas then walkability to shopping is limited but wanted to ask.

Absolutely open to other areas. Walkability is definitely only a nice to have; we could be content just staying at the resort, if needed.
