Hello All,
My husband and I are going to Cancun end of June. We want a great all inclusive resort that is for older adults. Nice, Quiet and Quaint by the beach.
Secrets Capri is small and quaint has a quiet side of the pool the other side has music and a pool bar. age range varies from about mid 30's 40's and up. we see a lot of older couples there. the resort is located in playa del carmen about 40 min. south of the Cancun airport. It's a very nice balance. If you decide to stay here be sure to ask for a room on the North side of property away from the night club. Those room are quiet.

Zoetry is good if you want a very, very quiet. More spa like. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g240327-d488579-Reviews-Zoetry_Paraiso_de_La_Bonita-Puerto_Morelos_Yucatan_Peninsula.html
Today I find most resorts have a variety of ages and the ages can vary day to day week to week. It sounds like you are looking for adult only. Many of the nicer ones tend to be more on the quiet side. A lot will depend how much you want to spend of course. Also some of the beaches are very nice and some are not great so choose carefully. Secrets Capri is a nice older resort that could work very well for you. It really depends on how impt the beach is for you. The beach there is not great.
Since you have posted this in the Cancun forum perhaps you are looking to stay right in Cancun. The hotel zone in Cancun is shaped like the number 7. The stem of the 7 has the long, wide white beach. The water can get rough but the ocean colors are the most beautiful of anywhere. The top of the 7 has smaller beach areas. It can be calmer but not always.
Live Aqua is a beautiful and newly renovated resort on a long and wide beach area. We have been to many resorts in the area and we really love it there. I have traveled there with my husband, adult kids, sister and even my father who is in his mid 90's. It is a laid back resort. It has a separated swim up pool for those wanting more lively. We love that you can rent cabanas (so many of them) or you can get one included in a suite. There are tons of loungers with umbrellas and many bali beds (no roof). The dining options are beautiful and so many lunch options. We love that no one is yelling over microphones. The activities are plentiful but no crazy games etc. The oceanviews are amazing and the service is the best we have experienced.
Sun Palace is another spot but it is closing this month for renovations I believe. Le Blanc we enjoyed but much prefer Live Aqua and we now realize for us it is far too expensive for what you get.
I haven't stayed at Beloved but it is a smaller adult resort that may fit your wants. The beach gets mixed reviews so be sure it fits your wants in a beach.
The quietest resort we have visited is Royal Hideway Playacar. It has changed owners since our visit but may be worth checking out. It has villa type building so oceanviews (which I love) are extremely limited but the beach is very nice. It is very quiet and has a nice beach though sargassum has been a bigger issue in Playacar/play del carmen than in some areas but it changes constantly.
There are many others of course but a lot depends on your budget.
