Flora or Las Velos

Hi all, we visited Port de Pollensa for the first time this year since 2007 and stayed at the Villa Concha which we loved the location of, as it was close enough to shops/restaurants etc but in a quiet area. We're coming back in 2019, first week in August, 2 adults and 17 year old daughter and we're trying to choose between the Flora Apartments and the Las Velos Apartments. Both apartments look good but my concerns with the Flora apartments are that we might find the area too noisy and the pool area too crowded. Las Velos look pretty much perfect but I'm worried that the location might be too far out. When we visited for the first time in 2007 we stayed in the Don Miguel apartments and didn't find the location a problem. Are the Las Velos much further out? Thanks in advance.

Las Velas Apartments are a bit outside of the ideal area, but it’s not THAT far from the action. If you don’t mind a 20 min walk to the Marina or a 5 min walk to be local bars then it’s fine.

Flora Apartments are in an ideal location. We have stayed there on three occasions and liked them.

Thanks SummerSun-7. I'm still undecided but I've booked both on a free cancellation to give me time. Still swaying towards Las Velos as it's a smaller complex and has two pools.

Las Velas is the far side (and next to) the busy dual carriageway.

Also, the facilities and apartments are nothing like the quality of Villa Concha.

I have heard good reports of Puerto Azul, good location and I think they have all been refurbished.

2 tiny pools filled with inflatables when we looked in last year

Flora is in a superb location for everything. Your concern about Flora "we might find the area too noisy" is unfounded. It's an ideal area - our preferred area for holiday accommodation (and we are very choosy).

Puerto Azul is next door to Flora but that doesn't do B&B bookings. IMO Las Velas is too far out. From looking at them all it seems to me Villa Concha is the highest quality. Have you checked out Montelyn, almost next door to Villa Concha and associated with it as you can also use Villa Concha's pool area.

Thanks MaeveGlos. The dual carriage way is a concern I must admit. Reading reviews I was under the impression that one of the pools is adults only. The Villa Concha was lovely but the main pool area was smaller than we expected and that too was full of inflatables.

Thanks Kwuk, yes Montelin look nice but they only do studios and apparently the bathroom sink is actually in the main room not the bathroom which I find a bit odd. You've reassured me over the area where Flora is situated so thanks for that.

I don't think I'd go back to Villa Concha unless we got a really good deal. It's about €1800 for the week at the moment.
