Buy in advance for Amsterdam to Bruges?

Hello! In looking at the Eurostar schedule, it is currently not available for the particular day in June we are traveling from Amsterdam to Bruges. So it looks like we will buy the IC tickets from nsinternational.com for the entire trip (Amsterdam - Antwerp - Ghent - Bruges). I keep reading that IC tickets are a set price, but on the nsinternational website, it says, "Prices increase as departure date approaches. Early booking pays off!" So I'm not sure whether the price changes or not?

But it looks like it is also possible to cancel, so I'm thinking there's not really a downside to buying early, especially since our needed date (June 16) is already more expensive than basically any other day that month!

Also, any thoughts between 1st and 2nd class? Is it worth it to get 1st class just for a less crowded option since we are traveling in the summer? Or will there be plenty of spots where two people can sit together?

Take a look at this site to see if it helps as it goes through several options for that journey….

The flexible pricing applies for the high speed trains and not for the regular intercity trains.

For the regular Intercity trains you get the early bird tariff if you buy a weel or more in advance.

For the IC trains you can buy:

1. Flexible ticket: Fixed price, cannot sell out, can be bought on the day, good for any departure, refundable.

2. Early Bird, cheaper fare, specified departure only, price varies, limited availability at each price level, can be refunded less a fee.

Its February. There is no need to worry about trains in June yet. If you prefer the high speed train just wait till April.
