3 hour ‘layover’ in Brussels

Hi

We are travelling from London to Vienna in March.

Our Eurostar train to Brussels Midi arrives 16.06

Our Nightjet train leaves Brussels Midi at 19.07

This gives us approximately 3 hours.

We would like to grab dinner and potentially see a bit of the city centre if possible.

Would you risk heading into central Brussels or would you stay in the area around the station?

You don't need to "check in" for the nightjet. Just turn up before it departs. So you can head into the center without any risk.

I would not stay in the area around the station, as that is not the nicest part of Brussels. Head to Brussel Centraal, and from there you can walk to the historic town centre. Between Zuid and Centraal there are trains every couple of minutes als almost all trains in Belgium pas through there.

Great thanks!

I was thinking we could head to Brussels central station and from there to the grand place, but was worried about timing. I feel reassured it’s feasible.

Thanks :-)

Oh just thought of another question sorry…

Are there luggage storage lockers at midi / zuid station?

Thanks!
