There have been some past tips on planning a beach holiday. Like how to keep track of stuff. Waterproof pouches. There is also a beach vacations forum. Safety is a common travel query and is relatively dependent on where you plan to go. You might want to share more about what you are looking for, because extra words might be helpful to a reader.

Welcome

Safe is relative.

If you want come back and try to specify what is "safe" in your mind.

Good luck

I would think that a doctor/dean at a college would know how to find the answer to the question she posed. But why not start with a country first that you are interested in visiting. Then google is " country X safe for female visitors". If there are red flags for you then pick another country.

Why travel , when there are very nice beaches right there at home in NJ?

Welcome to the Solo Travel forum.

My personal favorite beach destinations which I have spent time solo at are: Puerto Vallarta Mexico (30+ trips), Waikiki Oahu Hawaii (6x), Negril Jamaica in the Caribbean (3x). I have never had 'safety' issues in any of these places, traveling as a female alone.

Start by deciding where you want to go. Then check the local forums.

It's a big world and you need to narrow things down. At least pick a time of year or a hemisphere.

Then pick the sort of beach.

Think about what sort of beach trip you want? Fly and flop? Or more active?

Since I now live in Seattle, I go to either Hawaii or Mexico for beach vacations.

When I lived 'back east' (CT, MA, NH, VT) I went to islands in the Caribbean.

I haven't done it but there are endless beaches... I have friends who adore Thailand, there are places on the Mediterranean, Maldives, Seychelles, Goa. Belize, Roatan, Isla Holbox, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Tulum, Akumal.

I think likely a more pertinent question to start realistic trip planning is more about what flights you can get out of NJ/NY, how far are you willing to travel, what is your budget, how many days do you have??

That's quite an achievement.

Also a strange question. Globally how to find a safe beach?

I suggest you post on the forum for the place you want to travel and ask which beach is safest.

As far as "safe beaches" like anything about travel depends what you do. If you leave your purse hanging over the back of a chair, or your wallet laying on a beach towel and walk away... well things happen. Is this question about personal safety? Or possessions like leaving your i-phone or other valuables on the beach?

As a solo female traveller, I found the Grace Bay beach in Turks and Caicos both very beautiful and safe feeing. I stayed at the Sands Resort in a studio apartment with a small kitchen and, most importantly, a screened balcony.. The resort is not all inclusive, although it does have a reasonably good restaurant.

I rented a car from a local car rental company and used it to explore the island.

It is a quiet island not very suited to clubbing, but great for walking, lying about reading and a bit of exploring.

The only thing unsafe about the islands is the number of Americans with rental cars not used to driving on the left.
