Dozens of my reviews are now gone. Everyone needs to stop using trip advisor. It's a waste of time and effort. I will tell everyone I work with in the travel social media field that they should not rely on trip advisor since reviews are missing.

@May12345 I know the topic is the same but are you telling us that you have lost dozens of reviews after they were posted ? Did you do a quick check to see why ?

When a hotel or restaurant closes, the reviews are removed

When a place changes ownership and is renamed or if a hotel is renovated reviews may be removed

Or reviews go if they do not meet the submission guide lines

We don't know what the reason was. I don't think someone at TA has you marked as a person who's reviews are removed -- conspiracy theories notwithstanding.

So here is my suggestion. You can do a quick check to see if say 4-5 of your reviews were removed for the reasons above and if so, well it is what it is. If you find that a review should not have been removed. You may want to use the help center and ask them.

IMHO if you reviewed a restaurant or hotel two years ago , do those reviews really matter ? If these reviews are recent I would say they do and if those reviews for places have been removed. I would take that up with TA

I haven't seen any explanation of what is causing it but there have been quite a few instances over the last few months where users have reported losing all (or a substantial proportion) of their reviews suddenly.

Usually they are restored after the users queries it with TA.

I assume some TA filter is mistakenly detecting something that it considers suspicious and removing all reviews as a result.

That's not good. That is indeed a serious bug if reviews from a member are missing.

A filter typically works during the first time a review is posted does it not ? This sounds more like a batch job that is auto delinking reviews attached to a member -- sounds like a profile bug -- just a wild guess

There are 3-4 of these posts over the past 24 hours so sounds like the bug has reappeared

I have replied to your emails. I think it's possible you have more than one account. This happens frequently when you have more than one email address and use multiple devices to post reviews. If you can reply to my email to you with more information we should be able to merge the accounts.

For those us us who respond frequently on the Support forum, we should save those wise words from TA_Babara! I suspect this is the case for the vast majority of "my reviews went missing" threads and posts!
