tried to post a review of a recent stay at a B&B. Message said that I needed to set up an account and needed to use my password. We do not use FaceBook. Can you tell us how we go about doing this?

You have an account already. While you're signed on, like you did to post here, go to the listing page of the business you want to review, and click on the green Write a Review button.

Alternatively, go to this page http://www.tripadvisor.com/UserReview-p2178

And enter the name and city of the business.

You do not need a Facebook account to post on Tripadvisor forums or to write a review. If you're asked to sign on again, look carefully at the message. There will be a way of signing on with your email plus your password, just like you just did.

This is the most confusing endeavor that I've ever made online ... Round and round in circles ... Why is it so difficult and where do I post a review of Tripadvisor ?

Could you explain what you're trying to do, Elaine? Because I can think of three possibilities:

1. You're trying to sign up as a TripAdvisor member.

2. You're trying to submit a new listing to TripAdvisor so that you can then submit a review.

3. You're trying to be verified as an owner of an existing TripAdvisor listing so that you can submit management responses and update listing information.

Of course you could be trying to do something completely different.

You can review accommodations, restaurants and attractions on TripAdvisor, but not TripAdvisor itself.

Apparently you can review TripAdvisor on Yelp:
