Well, reading the details, there certainty is no mention of TA and, honestly, I can’t see that it would pertain to them anyway.

I am a little confused about the OP’s comment that people were supposed to receive $200 to enter the contest. Since when do you get compensated merely for entering a contest? Sounds very fishy although the contest itself was legitimate. I am sure whoever the winner was, wouldn’t have to go searching to find out but would be notified by the company.

Hopefully, KyBluegrassGirl will return and shed some light on the whole thing.

The above email was sent to me and then a paper check in the amount of $200 3-4 weeks later. This was generated after I answered an email for the sweepstakes. The check is from Cohen-Friedberg Associates, LLC a TA client from what I have been able to research. The check is from Bank of America but they refused to verify the merchant. I have done this before in my job. Bank of America said it was a privacy issue. I don't understand that at all.

I contacted Carrie in the above email for a listing of winners. No response yet. Many contests and sweepstakes typically provide a list of winners, if you ask.

I was hoping some other TA "peers" received this same email and check. That's why I used this forum.

I figured it was probably a scam but the email seems appropriate.

How would you suggest I contact TA directly about this ???

Just because the company may be a client of TA, this still has nothing to do with TA and I very much doubt they will give you any information other than what you can find for yourself with a quick Google search. Any dealings they may have would be confidential.

I don't know anything about this but it smells dodgy to me.

I've sent an email to support@tripadvisor.com.

I'll keep you posted what they say.
