balearesislands.com SCAM ALERT

Hi,

Since everybody is booking their vacations in this period I wanted to alert about a new vacation rental scam website. It's about balearesislands.com.

After booking one villa from this website - http://www.balearesislands.com I got suspicions as after I send them 2000 EUROS I have asked for a friend to make a visit at the villa and they stoped answering. Also I've tried their phone and it's close all the time.

I have started to make some checks about their website and saw that all the villas from http://www.balearesislands.com are copied from website sealandvillas.com. The only difference is that they have everything available and it's 30-40% cheaper!

If anyone knows also how we can disable this website you are welcome to provide any info.

I've also made a complain at the police but for sure will take a long time till they will do something and for sure lot of fools like me will get scammed.

Hey, I found your post by doing some research as I came across their website aswell.

Thanks for warning us.

The entire website of https://balearesislands.com is secured (suspicious) from copying their content. Theyr also have 0 contact information or are not associated with (international) travel insurance companies (suspicious). Dumb as they are, they don't know you can just fully acces their code which gave me access to their images. A simple reverse image look-up on Google showed me that https://balearesislands.com/properties/ib00366/ is not even located in Ibiza. This particular house is located in Greece (see: http://www.mykonosretreat.villas/mykon.../q-villa-2-bedrooms).

As always, if things are too good to be true, do not trust it. So yes, they are scammers.

Blinking heck. I've just booked a villa with them that I see is also on the Sealandvillas.com site as fully booked. I came across adverse comments earlier today so I broached balearesislands.com. I got a positive response from them but I'm guessing they're stringing me along.

Hi

We were very close to transferring 2000 euros to them, not sure what made me check as we have booked lots of villas in the past, but luckily i did, they flagged up on a scam website and use a VPN to hide thier true identity, another website has people on there who have lost in excess of 6k to them.

I have complained to google but they still wont do anything

Thank goodness you clicked in time. I've set up a fraud investigation with my bank, not hopeful for a positive response though. I've also been in contact with Sealand villas, the legitimate company that have had their Mallorca villa portfolio copied by balearesislands.com and they have been great. I believe they've got the police involved in Mallorca. I just hate to think of any families that have been saving all year for a holiday and have got scammed.

Thanks for your reply.

I have transferred the money digitally and therefore it is "unsecured".. So no change I will get the money back. Indeed an expensive lesson learned and also a warning for others.

Unfortunately I saw this post too late :-((
