Dedicated to delivering you great espresso coffee and superb gelato, BeachBox Coffee & Gelato is located in the heart of the Coopers Beach commercial zone near the Four Square and next to the Medical Centre. We are only 150m from the beautiful Coopers Beach so drop in on your way to or from the Beach.

Delightful!

What a find! The most perfect espresso (Rocket coffee), incredible home baked muffins and bagels alongside lovely chit chat with the owners Laney and Steve. What's more there is boutique accommodation next door and stay tuned for phase 3, an upcoming yoga studio. I'll be back!

Fabulous coffee and delicious gelato. Best spot in Doubtless Bay. Steve and the staff are welcoming and professional. Highly recommend stopping by (several times if you’re staying in the area!).

Lovely fresh coffee, good tasting beans and well brewed. Add a salmon bagel or a lemon curd muffin and your day will go well. Consume here (outside) or take down to the beach. Good recycling/waste reduction practises. Owners are public spirited, see vax requirements.

Dreadful iced mocha. Worse i hav ever had

My iced mocha was slightly flavoured milk and ice cubes. However, the lady who ordered one after me had it all blended and crushed ice. I actually had two sips of mine - it was flavourless. I threw the whole thing out and was bitterly disappointed. The blueberry sorbet was sugary and the flavour wasnt very good either. Coffees were great but I were definitely let down with the rest.

Terrible service

Terrible service and weird covid fears and discrimination. They are are outdoor cafe that do not offer a takeaway service - everyone has to show the vax pass - absolute nonsense for a coffee cart style place. I walked away in disgust even though I showed them my vax certificate because others were being discriminated against for no good reason.

Sorry, but your post and review are ignorant of the COVID Protection Framework rules. To be clear, despite the fact that we are a kiosk, we have outdoor tables under our control which means we fall under the Food & Drink rules. This means we have no option but to require vaccine passes. Our other option is to have no tables and operate as "takeaway only". You can find the rules here - https://www.business.govt.nz/covid-19/covid-19-protection-framework/food-and-drink-services/. Ultimately, we were not prepared to deprive our fully vaccinated customers of the enjoyment of our tables nor risk the health and safety of our customers and staff by operating under the retail rules.

Coopers Beach Coffee Fix

Good-looking place and good location. Very bland service, it would’ve been more pleasant to help myself than coax any info from the serving person..good coffee although it wasn’t extra hot as requested..average blueberry muffin that was very sugary sweet, not sweetened by the berries as I would have liked, it was fresh with a nice texture though. Will try once more.

Thanks for the feedback Kelly, we pride ourselves on our attentive service so we'll endeavour to be better on your next visit. Try and come on the weekend when we do our specialty almond croissants, they are in great demand though so be early :).

Excellent and original place to stop for much needed coffee

This is an clever and smart coffee stop near the shops at Coopers Beach. Excellent coffee and muffins, etc... It is elegantly set up in well appointed containers. This was a regular pit stop for us during our two weeks at Coopers Beach in February 2020

Pros: Good service, coffee is done well, food options (didn't try) and gelato, easy to find by the four square. Cons: Location - it's a car park. But you can wander down to the beach so all is not lost.

Best coffee around and the Gelatos are Devine. Very friendly Steve and Lainey working hard to make everyone so welcome. Set in amongst the shops at Coopers Beach. Be sure to visit when you in the area.

Nothing Like Great Coffee on the Doorstep !!

Great little pop up Coffee and Gelato and yummy food to cater for all. We stayed at the comfy accommodation so morning was a step out the door for a great Latte - they do all sorts - coconut , soy , oat milk. Great looking food in the cabinet and the Gelato was spot on for a sunny afternoon. Friendly owners - pop by - it's sure fire winner for morning coffee and a bite to eat.

Coffee really good. However the member of staff telling everyone she wouldn’t get a COVID vaccination ( because she didn’t want a sore arm) has slightly deterred me from returning.

Sorry just sighted this review, which in itself is poor, sorry :(. I think this was a bit of a throwaway comment from a former staff member and is not representative of our team or our policies. All of our staff are fully vaccinated and we are fully compliant with the Food & Drink rules which under the current COVID Protection Framework setting and rules requires Vaccine Passes.

I stayed at By the Bay along the beach. It was a lovely 13 minute walk to get a real coffee. Highly recommended!
