Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After a long bike ride with family, we stopped for coffee etc. We were greeted with a cherry good morning. Coffee & food was great, service excellent and a friendly wave when we all left.

Called in for a homemade pie and large flat white coffee after cycle ride from Hamilton. Cost was about $15.00. Pie was very tasty.

A group of 13 ladies cycled there from Hamilton for Coffee and treat during our stay. The service was brilliant. Coffee was great. I had a lovely Scone. Others had Muffins or a Slice. The young Lady makes all the Baking. Certainly recommend visiting.

Friendly, efficient service, a good range of food, plenty of space for the bikes, tables outside and space under cover, great coffee, clean loos. 8 of us turned up to eat halfway through our Te Awa River trail cycling trip. They managed all 8 orders...easily and with a smile.More

The service at this cafe is terrible. It is such a shame because the food is good (although inconsistent). This cafe really has potentially, and is great for Ngaruawahia, however the staff really need a shake up!

I have to agree with other reviews on TripAdvisor. The service was less than friendly. Not one smile from the casually dressed girls working. Coffee was weak and warm. My nespresso coffee machine makes better coffee. The fried chicken and chips was over priced and...didn't need half a kilo of fries on the plate. Poached eggs over cooked and toast way to toasted. Either it was already stale before toasting or just way too toasted. Overall disappointed and obviously the owner doesn't read TripAdvisor to see what needs improving.More

The young women serving and working the counter were very rude.My friend and I arrived before our other friends cycling from Hamilton and asked if we could have a table for 10 of us. There was one large table with a reserved notice on it...so we asked could we push some tables together. The young women said no we'd have to sit outside. The restaurant wasn't full so my friend hadn't heard her say no so proceeded to just move some tables together. Finally another young lady came over and helped us. We then asked if they could be wiped over as they needed it. She wiped one of the 4 and had to be asked to clean them all. The service was very average. We ate, I had a quiche and the rest of our friends arrived. My quiche came absolutely unadorned. Not even sauce on the side. We all spent quite a lot of money. At least $20 per couple. So a substantial amount. All this time the reserved table sat vacant. When we left I said to the young woman behind the counter that the table had sat empty all the time we were there. She said that it was for her family and they had cancelled and if I wanted to complain I should take it up with them. Did I want to she asked ? I felt that was a threat. They started vacuuming around tables near us so I suppose they wanted us to leave. It wasn't late not even 3pm. We got the message. On the positive side my husband had the special mussels and they were good. But the staff attitude needs a lot of smartening up.More

Very nice tasty food from the cabinet. Very nicely done. The portions from the cabinet are on the smaller side and the prices are on the higher side, But it was nice to have a place that had a good selection of smaller portions (most...places only serve big portions) there were a few of those on offer as well, grilled chicken and chips etc. Counter service was reasonably friendly, not the fastest. The coffee was drinkable but not the best. The atmosphere is very nice.More

Appalling service, weak coffee that took 20 minutes and my meal never arrived after waiting an hour. Pretty sure it got given to another table by mistake. The apology was lip service. Really disappointing as have had coffee & cabinet food previously which was great.

Have been to this cafe a few times. Their menu has a few gf/df options which are nice but when you don't want a meal their cabinet food is limited to sweet things. Those of us unfortunate enough to be gluten and dairy intolerant don't...want to live on cake. Otherwise this place is great.More

We have been twice in the last month and the food options are absolutely amazing also portion sizes are huge! Heaps of Gluten & Dairy Free options which was great for our food allergies and coconut milk an option for coffee too. Chilli Eggs, Beetroot...Hummus Bowl, Waffles, Chicken & Chips could not be faulted. Best place we have been in Hamilton for brunch.More

This is such a neat cafe with a great name After seeing this cafe pop up on facebook, I decided to give it a shot since I live less than a 5 minute drive away. On this visit I was only ordering coffee and something...sweet. Unfortunately by the time I arrived all of their popular cabinet treats I had seen on social media had sold out but there was still a good selection available to choose from. I decided on an almond milk flat white and the carrot cake. On this day the cafe was pretty quiet so my coffee was made and brought over straight away. I was not disappointed by my order. The coffee was great and had good flavour and the carrot cake was very moist and very delicious. The staff were friendly and the cafe had a nice atmosphere and good design. I'm really looking forward to returning and ordering items from their menu and hopefully I can get my hands on some of the goodies everyone is raving aboutMore
