PIER17 – EIN ORT DES WANDELS Das PIER17 an der BLS Schiffländte Oberhofen ist ein Restaurant, direkt am schönen Thunersee. Wo früher Ausflügler ihr Billet kauften und auf ihr Schiff warteten, kann heute in nostalgischem Ambiente fein, gesund und mit einem guten Gefühl gegessen und getrunken werden. Es hat sich viel verändert und auch wieder nicht – noch heute werfen die Matrosen im Sommer fast stündlich ihre Leinen und die Kursschiffe stoppen vor dem PIER17. Das ist eine willkommene Unterhaltung für unsere Gäste, bevor sie wieder das beeindruckende Bergpanorama, das Essen und den See geniessen. Wir gehen einen Schritt weiter und stellen die Nachhaltigkeit noch mehr ins Zentrum. Dazu haben wir mit sechs kreativen Menschen einen der schönsten ‚Sundowner-Plätze’ am Thunersee kraftvoll aufgemischt. Zusammen sind wir die Visionäre und unser erstes Projekt: das PIER17. Auch diese Saison haben wir wieder ein neues Angebot im ‚Shop & more’ für Sie zusammengestellt.

Absolutely charming cafe with

Absolutely charming cafe with a gorgeous view and lovely staff. Maybe I’ve been in Switzerland too long but I thought the food was delicious! I had the avocado toast with burrata and pesto— it arrived beautifully plated, with herbs and edible flowers. My husband’s salad was similarly beautifully plated. My kids had the pastrami bagel (spelled “bustrami”), chips and guacamole, and a smoothie. Our waitress was friendly and efficient even though it was very busy. She complemented our German— a polite fiction, we are beginners— and spoke slowly with simple vocabulary to help us understand, switching to English when necessary. Highly recommended!

Delicious food in a picture perfect setting

Simple menu but fantastic quality. Guacamole was better than my own and everyone always tells me that I make the best... but not anymore I'm afraid. Home made drinks were delicious. And the location topped it off. Along lake thun and next to a medieval castle. What more could you want?

One of my favourite places on lake Thun

This is a must if you like good cocktails, snacks and lake views! I cannot recommend this place enough. Small menu that is perfect for snacks or a small meal. Have been here many times during the summer. Staff are very friendly and speak several languages. Paddle boarded over from Thun to here a few times and it is a great pit stop for tasty food.

Mojito tastes like water, until they cum take ur order u could watch titanic about 7 times. I hope ur vegetarian cuz there is ONE option with meat... good luck homies

Amazing views and creative food

Totally stumbled on this little gem while driving from Bern to Interlaken. Highly recommended - especially the pulled pork bagel and amazing guacamole. Also loved the hazelnut tart and homemade ice cream. The location with views across the lake was stunning. Also situated immediately adjacent to the historic Oberhofen castle. Even had a small playground for the kids.

Rudest staff ever!

After the bus journey to Oberhofen castle, we fancied a drink whilst enjoying the beautiful views of the lake. Pier 17 seemed ideal but how wrong we were. I have never come across such rude, vile and disgraceful creatures in all my years of travelling, as we found serving here ( apart from the young one). We were spoken to like we were an inconvenience and my daughter was spoken to so rudely she ended up in tears. To add to this, after we quickly drank our exceptionally disgusting chai tea ( tasted like fairy liquid), we went to the toilet. There is only one. I went after my daughter only to have a member of staff hammering on the door. When I opened it , she stood scowling telling me we were rude to have taken so long! Less than 3 minutes!! I couldn't believe my ears. We were going to eat here but quite frankly I'd rather have eaten my shoe than given them my custom. An absolute disgrace to Switzerland.

If you are looking for a variety in Vegetarian food then you must hop into Pier 17 right outside Schloss Oberhofen....or at the pier from when you take the boat.

Really nice stop for lunch!

We were around Oberhofen castle and found this gem with an incredible view to enjoy while eating! The one who served us is very good at english and really nice and serviceminded! The prices might seem expensive for foreigners, but you do get a lot of value for your money and it was really tasty!

Perfect Spot

Perfect spot for viewing the town of Oberhofen, Thunersee, and of course the castle. The pier/restaurant has really nice outdoor seating for a sunny day (not much interior room so may not be a great spot on rainy days). The drink menu, both alcoholic and non, is extensive and prices are fair. The service was also really friendly.
