Last time we came here we had traditional New Zealand pies. On this occasion they only had two varieties available (mince & cheese and meat lover) I chose the meat lover and once again it was well presented with hot chips. The restaurant has the...ambience of an old NZ railway cafe but this is much improved. The coffee was good as well and if you are a lucky trainspotter you might just get to see a train coming through as well. An enjoyable and relaxing lunch.More

Was so excited about taking our friends here from Auckland wow how disappointing. A two man show the chef and the front person who couldn't keep up even tho it wasn't over busy. The tables from previous people hadn't been cleared the toilets were a...mess and the whole place lacked ambience. The meals were fair. Wouldnt go back or recommend this establishment at all.More

Delicious fresh food. A talented chef! This is a popular destination. The restaurant has a homely warm feel.

Top points for the mince and cheese pie - best ever. The accompanying food was excellent also. Worth arriving early for the train.

The Station Cafe was recommended to us yesterday so we stopped there this morning, on our way home to Auckland. Situated next to the main trunk line, the building has retained its quaint ambiance. The breakfast was most enjoyable, as was the coffee. The lass...on duty was both efficient and friendly. Would recommended this cafe to anyone passing through National ParkMore

Disused railway station provides a fun venue for a cafe. Well worth a visit if you are nearby. Old photographs show station in its heyday

The breakfast we ordered was excellent and we'll definitely go back. We recommend their pie, it's the best one we've ever had in NZ.

Located at the national park railway platform the little cafe has a great value menus I had the home made pie 🥧 and fries. My wife had the lasagna we were made welcome and served with a smile. Worth the little detour. Turn off at...the pub and mingolf and drive to the end of the road about 1 k . They also do a great value 3 course dinner for around $40 ppMore

Ordered lamb rump with potato gratin, it was good except for the potatoes (these were very disappointing). Partner had venison dish, nice but salad was lack luster. Much better food than the hotel in national park that we ate in last night. Have come to...accept that there is no half decent places to eat around here and this place is the best of the bunch.More
