Has to be the WORST place I have ever had the misfortune to visit. We arrived at National Park station to find no taxis or shuttles - ok, our bad, it is the off season. Walking in the pouring rain to the pub, ordered an...extortionately priced meal for each of us. My 77 year old Mum wanted a cup of tea and we were told no. Not enough staff to make hot drinks. We got our meals and they were awful. I had almost finished mine before Mum's arrived and it just about inedible. When asked if they could call us a shuttle to take us to our accommodation - they laughed at us and then said enjoy the rain as we walked out into the awful weather. As a Kiwi I am disgusted at the behaviour of the staff in this establishment and embarassed that they behaved this way to some overseas visitors who were also there that day. You should be ashamed of yourselves.More
We had a great dinner here with our kids. We got a nice table right by the fire and tv Staff were super friendly, awesome vibe / atmosphere in the pub. Food was delicious, my salad was massive ! Kids were happy with their mac...n cheese Nice warm cozy place to hang out and have dinner and a couple of drinksMore
Lovely pub with friendly staff, a nice atmosphere, good options for food and drinks! Even close to the closing time of the kitchen, the food was good, well presented and fair prices.
What an absolute rip off! $25 for a breakfast buffet and watch the game. No mushrooms, no proper sausages, dried up hash browns, bacon that disappeared seconds after it was replenished, then on top of that we had to go outside to a coffee cart...wait for half an hour for coffees that we still had to pay for. Considering there's no competition anywhere close by these guys are creaming it and I won't be organizing any groups traveling to National Park in the future, we'll head to Ohakune instead. Total waste of money and a bad taste in my mouth.More
We stopped in the carpark to take a photo of the wooden kiwi on the road right next to it. We were drawn in by the hot food sign. Im so glad we did, the fish and chips were delicious. As soon as they realised...we were going to share the large portion the staff immediately went and got not only another cutlery set but also another plate for my partner. The food was so good and obviously fresh. The real fireplaces and heavy duty wooden tables gave the place a wonderful relaxing atmosphere.More
Beautiful day to stop and eat lunch outside. Staff were great and the food was awesome, ribs, garlic bread and nachos. Definitely be back.
Enjoyed breakfast here for 2 consecutive days. Food was great. Staff were helpful, engaging and friendly. We will be back.
We had food for lunch and dinner. This was the only restaurant open at all times down the mountain. The food was really good and filling and the waiting time was barely 10-15 minutes which was awesome.
This is a great spot for wonderful food. Has good atmosphere and delicious food. Serves are very substantial. Jason is a superb host, very welcoming and friendly. We ate there on two days when staying at National Park.
Great atmosphere, two fireplaces and a pool table, cold-weather comfort food and a decent kids menu. Lots of space, can get a bit noisy with the sports on the big screen but my pick for a dinner out in National Park.
Food was amazing. The workers are the sweetest and love building amazing memories with both the fam and friends. Plus live sport, interactive games and a warm fire place. Been here a bunch for the past 10 years and it’s always been awesome
A great pub! Delicious food, good music and amazing service. Definitely on the must visit list after a walk in the National Park
Not much choice up here. Nachos shouldn’t be made with ’sweet chilli sauce’. Large meal but really expensive. Nice atmosphere. poor wifi (zero) even though it’s available.
Disappointed! Have always liked stopping here but was disappointed to be lied to. Finally got to bring my 86 year old parents to Schnapps. I asked if the man behind the counter made coffee to which he replied no but I could always get an...alcoholic beverage, he then directed us to a coffee stand down the road. I thought well while we are here we may as well support the locals. Not long after being served, 2 customers came in and ordered coffee which he made himself and served to them. Why did you lie? Poor customer service & lack of integrity.More
