Reasonable food at reasonable prices. Quite a friendly atmosphere, with a good number of patrons (always a good sign)

Good sized meals, quick efficient service - pub food that's all. Big selection of drinks, and meals - not so much vege options.

Was staying at the hotel so decided to eat in. The food is ok but nothing to rave about. Had breakfast elsewhere.

Confirmed the closing time of the restaurant. Arrived and there wasn't a table which was fine. They took my name and phone number and said they would call when a table became available which they did about 20 minute later. Rather than seating us at...the table they pointed and advised the table is over there. We seated ourselves. Once seated we were completely ignored. Some 20 minutes later we hadn't even ordered drinks let alone a meal. There were plenty of staff milling around. The final 10 minutes of us sitting there saw waiting staff walk past our table some half a dozen times and completely ignore us. It was obvious that we hadn't ordered. There wasn't even a bottle of water placed on our table during that time. People who were at larger tables and arrived after us had their orders taken. After 25 minutes I was seething so I said to my daughter we needed to leave as they didn't deserve our custom. The meals weren't cheap at $35 for a steak dinner. Due to the dinner experience I wasn't prepared to provide them with a second chance for breakfast which at $25 wasn't going to be a cheap option either. It seems to me that they rely on the popularity of the Tongariro Crossing, having a captive audience with people needing a place to stay and somewhere to eat as an excuse to provide crappy service at steep prices. I would suggest you continue driving and find somewhere else to eat and stay if you possibly can as this venue isn't worth it on any level.More

We came here for dinner. We were welcomed by a lovely FOH who took us to a table. We ordered drinks and a meal. Then after a. couple of drinks we waited and waited . After an hour with no interaction with any staff we...asked to speak to the manager who checked and said our meals were still a few minutes away. Apparently one of the meals they had run out of which is why it was taking so long. Really! How about telling us so we can choose something else or offering some garlic bread while we wait. By this point I was so tired I didn’t think I’d enjoy my meal and we left.More

Was going to eat here because we were staying on site. Had to wait for a table, that was fine they were busy. Once we sat down, 20 minutes later we still hadn’t ordered. In the last 10 minutes that we sat there the waiting...staff walked past the table 6 or 7 times, (and a few times in the first 10 minutes) looked at the table, could see we had no food and no drinks on the table and they carried on walking. People who arrived after us had their orders taken. At 25 minutes we left as I was so angry at being ignored and was worried we would miss out on being able to get dinner at the restaurant next door. Needless to say we won’t even be attempting breakfast tomorrow morning.More

Overall good quality food, nice ambiance in the restaurant. Well priced for what you receive. We had dinner and breakfast and couldn't complain about either.

Highly recommend- suitable for families also. Lovely friendly staff and very yummy food. I had the lamb shank one night which was amazing, as was the steak. Kids burgers were awesome and my hubby loved his chicken burger.

Was delighted with our thin crust pizza. More like New York style. Very quiet while we were there. Nice to have a fire place and enjoyed the historical photos around the walls. .
