Warm welcome and excellent meal - very very fresh fish!

We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant when were staying at 100 Rizes down the road. No menu - rather the chef/owner pulled up a chair and told us what was available that day :) Eggplant salads were excellent! When we said we wanted grilled fish he insisted that we go to the back and see what he had available that night - the chef really knows his stuff citing the fat content of each of the fish options! We chose a daurade which was grilled to perfection. Highly recommend!

A good restaurant with delicious dishes, even though the menu is not very extensive. A gluten-free diet was taken into account, which was nice for my group. To my surprise, the owner (I think) spoke Dutch. He made it a pleasant experience. Please note that fish is slightly more expensive than meat.

A good fish dinner

We had dinner at this restaurant during our stay in Areopoli. The boys had spaghetti with peeled prawns, we had aubergine salad, green beans, a mixed fish dish (fried, octopus salad, grilled sardines) and a grilled catch of the day. All very good, fast service and very helpful staff. The owner speaks Italian very well, as well as a number of other languages. Price quality more than good. The only personal note is the lack of a written menu.

We stayed 500 meters away, we were greeted by the manager, a very nice big man who spoke a funny but fluent Italian. Traditional and simple land and seafood dishes, executed very well. Fair prices. In addition to the friendliness and climate, the most appreciated peculiarity was that, instead of the usual pseudo traditional Greek music for tourists, we had dinner listening to an excellent blues in the background! Promoted with flying colors! We obviously returned two nights later.

From the noise of Gythio, wonderfully quiet. Nice view and fantastic fresh food, tuna, shrimp, mussels. No fixed card the Owner who also speaks Dutch explains what he has. Don't intrude. Really great!

Relaxed evening meal with friends

We almost missed it - its a restaurant that looks like a house, no menu was offered as they only offer what they have fresh on the day or what the fishermen have caught. Its a nice relaxing place to be and is a place where you can sit and eat and not worry about how long it takes. Food was fresh and good size portions all well prepared and executed, felt almost like eating at home

We were the only table at around 19:30. Nothing special about the flavors. A 'green's salad with parmesan cheese was full of iceberg and the fried kalamarakia were 'swimming' in the oil... really gentle staff and nice view. Normal price. I had bigger expectations due to recommendations...

We enjoyed returning to again this year for another lovely meal. Expertly prepared food, authentic Greek - but with interesting twists. This is not your average taverna fare. Highly recommended for its excellent fish as well as range of creative dishes. Lovely service too! Make sure you make a visit to Thalami.

Excellent food, great view

There was nothing that we tasted that we didn't like. We ordered fish and seafood and everything was very fresh and cooked just like it should be. While our meal was not served in a very fancy way, it was tasty and well cooked. Vassilis was very helpfull and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it, particularly for lunch, so that you can enjoy the view as well

We went for evening dinner just of the review of trip advisor. Never again. Where is the view? The plates just showing off. Prices over quality and the owner trying to be friendly when there is no criticism. If you want to be sure stay on simple plates. Please do not wear a chef outfit when you don't know the job. One word only: unpro!!!

Great Greek hospitality and food. Vassilis will sit down with you to discuss the day's options and show you the fresh fish you can choose from. Look out over the bay and enjoy your lunch or dinner. We have been here several times in the past years and the quality and atmosphere remain fantastic. Nice beaches around the corner.

We have been at the beautiful terrace of Thalami before and this time we were suprised in a possitive way. Yes, the view and service are still excellent. The fresh fish prepared as it has to be. But with a new limited menu, a new young cook and a daily special is was a quit different experience. TOP. Our daily special was a seafood risotto presented in a way it was a pity to disturb the picture, but it was to good to be true, wonderful. Also the green salad was of a kind you do not find easily in this neighbourhood. Completed with a perfect grilled fish and fresh squid, we thought we were in heaven. They make their own pasta (with squid ink) and hamburgers from scratch (including the bun).
