As a TripAdvisor DESTINATION EXPERT for Colombia, with 30 years of visits and now living 4 years in Medellin, and exploring just about every city & pueblo both large and small - it is my pleasure to provide my experiences of Zotea restaurant in Coqui, Choco, Colombia.
Just coincidentally we were on a small boat heading out of Nuqui, where I was staying, and there happen to be 2 passengers on board who were visiting the coast from Bogota and they spoke to our ship captain about Zotea and enjoying a late lunch/early dinner on our way back up the coast, so a call was made to reserve lunch for the 6 of us about 4 hours later.
This place is only accessible by boat as the choco jungle is dense until it ends at the shoreline so there are no roads.
The meal was typical fish, not sure of the type of fish, but nonetheless it was fresh and cooked well and the side items were a welcomed taste after being on the sea and hiking inland for the better part of the day.
I don't actually recall what we paid for the meal but think it was about 30,000 pesos perhaps 35,000 pesos so very reasonable.
The tables and chairs are very comfortable especially so after our boat ride and hikes. Take a look at my photos and you will get a sense of the meal and surrounding.
As there is not a restaurant anywhere near, even perhaps 20 km away, so this was a welcomed stop for us. A good stop and maybe the only option for miles around.

We were very excited to try this restaurant as it was highly recommended, but unfortunately when we got there (boat ride away from where we were staying, not easily reachable) they didn't have our reservation and found the restaurant closed. The manager stated that they were not using their website for reservations, so it would have been nice to know that ahead of time as the website took our reservation and charged us 20,000 pesos per person. They made us wait an hour making us think that they would provide service and came up with nothing. Not sure I want to go back and try it. Hoping to get our money back.
