The team at the Boat Club were amazing. Thank you so much for looking after us on both Friday and Saturday night. The food was amazing and the fish extravaganza on Saturday was out of this world. Can't recommend highly enough - thanks to all...the locals that made us feel welcome too, including the Glenfern team where we all stayed.More

Great pub food and very accommodating staff. Hubby had the BLT; I had a fish & egg burger (which was absolutely divine) and we both had locally brewed Aotea beers. The Boat Club had only just been able to reopen after Auckland's lockdown, so the...menu was shorter (and handwritten !) but perfect, and once we met a couple of fellow tourists, our lunch stop turned into a very enjoyable afternoon. Highly recommended.More

It looks like this place has been rescued from ruin by new owners. Well worth figuring out how to get in (needs better signage) -- the food and drink were terrific. Really hope it gets back on its feet again soon, as it is a...pleasant place with nice people.More

Stopped by for lunch, staff were friendly enough and the food was your typical pub grub, but it was a bit expensive for what it was - not particularly great.

Good pub food - enjoyed the food and the location. We had a ciabatta chicken sandwich and some squid rings...

Visited this with 6 friends to celebrate a birthday. The food choice was limited and several menu items were not available.Service was slow and portions small. The place looks tired and needs refurbishment. As the only restaurant in the north of Great Barrier Island it...was a disappointment. Also visited once for drinks.More

We decided to try the boat club for a meal. Great views from the club and the staff are very friendly but the food was poor. We had crispy/spiral prawns and a lambs shank. There were a few deep fried prawn and dumplings on a...plate and a couple of sauce bowls with chilli and soy sauce and that was it for $18 - really poor. The lamb shank was nicely cooked, but small and the potatoes with cheese and the salad in a bowl were small in size and for around $28 - really poor. The only redeeming feature is that the locals were friendly, the beer was cold and the Warriors were winning. Highly recommended for food - NOT.More

We visited the boat club after a walk around Glenfern Sanctuary and spent a pleasant hour there. However, we returned a week later with friends and, despite all the notice boards on the island declaring the place to be open it was decidedly shut. A...big disappointment for us as we had been looking forward to a meal and a few drinks there after having spent a week on a boat. I’d recommend calling in advance so you don’t also get your hopes dashed.More

Such a lovely spot. Great water view across port and out to sea back toward Auckland. Building a little old & tired but island style. Lovely service and food was best we had on Island.

Fourteen of us travelled there via sailing boats. Paul was very accommodating and the food was terrific. We got good advice about local walks. If you’re going to the Hauraki gulf, make this place a stop.
