Visited this with 6 friends to celebrate a birthday. The food choice was limited and several menu items were not available.Service was slow and portions small. The place
looks tired and needs refurbishment. As the only restaurant in the north of Great Barrier Island it...was a disappointment.
Also visited once for drinks.More
We decided to try the boat club for a meal. Great views from the club and the staff are very friendly but the food was poor. We had crispy/spiral prawns and a lambs shank.
There were a few deep fried prawn and dumplings on a...plate and a couple of sauce bowls with chilli and soy sauce and that was it for $18 - really poor. The lamb shank was nicely cooked, but small and the potatoes with cheese and the salad in a bowl were small in size and for around $28 - really poor. The only redeeming feature is that the locals were friendly, the beer was cold and the Warriors were winning. Highly recommended for food - NOT.More
We visited the boat club after a walk around Glenfern Sanctuary and spent a pleasant hour there. However, we returned a week later with friends and, despite all the notice boards on the island declaring the place to be open it was decidedly shut. A...big disappointment for us as we had been looking forward to a meal and a few drinks there after having spent a week on a boat. I’d recommend calling in advance so you don’t also get your hopes dashed.More
Fourteen of us travelled there via sailing boats. Paul was very accommodating and the food was terrific. We got good advice about local walks. If you’re going to the Hauraki gulf, make this place a stop.
We visited The Port Fitzroy Boat Club today and experienced wonderful hospitality, the staff were very friendly and the food was lovely and wholesome. The new managers have created a marvelous atmosphere which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We were looking for somewhere to have a coffee when we saw the sign for the Boat Club. It was almost closing time but we were accommodated with a delicious cappuccino, sitting on the deck looking down the Port Fitzroy harbour.
