Best Fresh Snapper and Scallops feed

Last night we had the most delicious fresh crumbed Snapper fish, garlic chips and battered Scallops at the Kinloch store. We were able to Dine in, which seemed a little strange at first, because they were also a general store. However the food soon made up for any concerns we had. We were both very full and really satisfied with our quality Fish and Chips meal.

So tasty and delicious. Visited today and ordered the chicken, bacon and avocado Burger and some Chippies. Along with other things for the family was very tasty and fresh and great layout of the store :) thanks xx @hooked_on_taupo insta

Great Fish and Chips

First time over to have a look around Kinloch. Called into the general store to have some fish and chips, and I’m glad we did. Some of the best I’ve had. Cooked to perfection with the right amount of salt added. Highly recommend going there.

No FISH & CHIPS :(

Went to order take aways but they said we have to preorder before 1pm ... I commented that it didn’t say that on there’s website she said look at Facebook..... I then went to Facebook and it said nothing about pre ordering. She then attaching and wanted to know if I was a local (as I am) so it’s not good to be from out of town. It was cheaper to put gas in the car and go to taupo to get dinner ( it was amazing) So don’t rely on getting fish and chips. Shop local go to taupo

Disgusting service and attitude from manager

Don’t know how this store is still operating- the attitude and service from the manager (owner) was atrocious. She needs to seriously take a course in how to treat customers. I’m saying that, the fish and chips were good but the service did put a dampener on our day at Kinloch’s beautiful beach.

The younger ones that work here are amazing, they have always smiled at me and been really nice. The older ladies though have an attitude problem. I went there early once and asked if they were open and got “umm no what does it look like?!” Then when they have all the signs out and the lights on in the afternoon I go to see if they’re still open and get given eye rolls. Keep the young ones on, get rid of the older ladies (not the older bloke that did my pizza once he was awesome). I was a loyal and local customer and now I won’t be back. I told my parents and they’ve had the same issue and said the renovation is good but the service has gone downhill.

Amazing hoki fish n chips

Excellent service and a nice store with plenty of supplies for that emergency stop. I had a crumbed hoki piece of fish with some chips. The food and coffee was excellent, hot clean and very fresh. The hoki was top notch, in fact, I think it's the best piece of hoki I've ever had at a takeaway restaurant.

Delicious soup

We decided to take a last minute drive from Taupo to check out Kinloch. The cafe next door was closed by the time we arrived (just after 2pm) and it was bitterly cold. Thankfully the store had a delicious - and very well priced - pumpkin soup on offer. It was wholesome, hot and hit the spot. In fact, it was so filling I couldn't finish it. It was the perfect spot for a late lunch overlooking the lake.

Great store

The Kinloch store offers a great range of sandwiches, toasties and other meals. It has limited seating but is great for grab and go meals. Friendly staff and nicely prepared food.

Always the same ...

Staff are always friendly, approachable and helpful. The store is well stocked and offer a traditional Kiwi takeaway menu as well as wood fires pizzas. A selection of wine are also for sale.

Good old kiwi fish n chips

Good fish n chips here and burgers are quite nice as well. Only concern would be size of the scoop of chips is a bit hit and miss with one week they will be a good size then the other not much at all. But on a good day there take away is up there with most recommended fish n chip outlets. Not to mention this is a dairy and small store that even does coffee.

Saturday lunch

I have been having lunch here with my wife nearly every weekend for over a year while our house was being built in Kinloch. Our granddaughter has usually been with us and really looks forward to the visit. The staff are always friendly and efficient and the fish and chips are great. We will keep on going their for weekend lunch.

A well stocked store, that sell everything you may need. Have had takeaway meal and it was delicious, chicken and avocado burger, with bacon, on Turkish bread. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Don't be deceived that this is just a dairy. Had a great toastie and coffee. Relaxed and soaked up the view. Obviously a popular spot for the locals and buzzes during holiday season
