We ate at Pantazis 3 times during our visit to Nikiana. Initially the food was great but it did go down hill a bit and on the final evening we were quite disappointed. We had a courgette pie which was very dry and over cooked. My husband had prawn saganaki which was lacking in prawns and a bit underwhelming. My pastitsio was quite dry and rather tasteless too. It may have been because they were very busy due to it being a public holiday.
However, the staff were very pleasant and the setting idyllic, right on the beach with a beautiful view.

We arrived quite early and the restaurant was getting busy. The staff were welcoming and helpful too. We had advice about the wine and although we did not choose house wine, the waiter pointed out that ours was more expensive which I thought was good. We asked about fresh fish and the choice was limited as they had been full at lunch. Our grouper was delicious and there was no pressure to buy a larger one which would have been too much. Starters were generous and then we were given a choice of puddings on the house.

We absolutely loved eating here! When we arrived the lady seating guests was dealing with a particularly rude man and handled it so well, and still had a huge smile for us. We were seated at a table on the very beach front and had a gorgeous view as the sun went down (even saw the passing party boat!). The service was great and the food amazing - we had Greek salad, moussaka and a veal stifado plus local drinks for less than €50. Great value for such a lovely authentic restaurant. Will be eating here again and highly recommend!

One hour after ordering, the server informed us that three of the main courses we had ordered weren’t available anymore. He was rude and condescending and basically wanted to put the blame on us for not wanting to order something else after we had been waiting for this long. The salad they served us was tasteless and the main courses never arrived. The person in charge instead of apologizing was very aggressive. Will never go back.

Unfortunately, the looks of the place do not guarantee a great (not even mediocre) culinary experience. The tables are crammed together. The service is very slow and the food was not good.
Portions are a joke and this is what made us really upset. We did express our thoughts to the person that served us and he offered ridiculous excuses. Not one of us enjoyed our meal.
I attach a picture of the portion of the swordfish. Believe it or not it was served like that. Apart of the small portion, it tasted like a bad chewing gum. We did not finish our meal of course.
Would not recommend at all.

Waited 45 minutes to even get drinks. Greek salad good, bread nice. Grilled cuttlefish was 1,5 hrs and arrived stone cold. Packed restaurant but abs absolutely shocking food and service. One waiter for the whole restaurant. Fed the cold cuttlefish to the cats. Drive to Lygia - much nicer food and fabulous tavernas. This place is bloody awful.

Very nice taverna in The Beach in port Nikiana. The prices are very good (cheapest in the area) and the food was awsome. They gave us in the end a mix of desserts for free: baklava, creme Brulee, panna cotta etc. All desserts were very, very good.

Had a fantastic lunch - not only is it fantastic food but the location is fantastic and it is very good value for money. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for the bill to come after asking many times. The restaurant was clearly short on staff. However, they made up for it by offering free dessert to compensate, without us having to ask which is very good.
would visit again.

Visited this tavern on a Friday night as a couple and we couldn't be any happier. Yes, we had to wait around 10 minutes until we got a table, but the place was full, so obviously they can't make extra tables appear out of thin air.
The food was super fresh and delicious. Everything we tasted, including the Greek salad which had a great amount of all ingredients (usually you get huge slices of tomato with a bit of onion and a few peppers at other places) and the tzatziki which was scrumptious.
The staff was very friendly and always there when needed.
Definitely try the semi-sweet house wine!

We stayed there 3 times in August 2023.
As for the first two times, we left really happy, excellent food, impeccable service, "right" price.
The third time, however, (precisely on the evening of mid-August but the tavern was not particularly crowded), many of our expectations failed (hence the rating of only average rather than excellent): first of all we found the price list to be higher (two days after the time previous), not all the dishes but some, in the order of 10%, i.e. one or two euros for the main dishes.
But above all there was a collapse in the service: apart from the wait, what bothered us most was that, when the main courses arrived we ordered a second beer (the first was finished) which was not never arrived, and this ruined our dinner a bit since the food struggled to go down.
It is understandable that if you order another dish you have to wait but for a drink, especially during dinner, the service should be almost immediate, whereas in reality it is just "skipped".
Let's hope it was just a hiccup because the food was still excellent.

I’m afraid I have to concur with some of the other comments on here, namely the service. The staff were very grumpy and not welcoming at all, the place was quite crowded and we were ushered to a table and issued our menus. Everything was very rushed as though it was a fast food outlet, but the cardinal sin was that they brought our main courses to us when we were only half way through our Greek salad starter! All crammed onto a very small table for two, and still no smile or courtesy from the staff. Also we found the food very average, especially compared to the Katerina where we ate the previous night, all be it a bit more expensive, but I’d rather have a pleasant experience than feel like I’m being rushed!

The service was great, friendly and quickly. We ordered the swordfish filet with fries. It was without a doubt, the very best swordfish filet from the last 6 restaurants we have tried in the island.it was super fresh, butter soft and juicy. I highly recommend it. Did not have the chance to try the fried zuchini but I ve heard from other tables that is was very good as well. We will return here next here for sure. Tye prices were not expensive and the portions large.
Depending on when you come, you might have to reserve a table in advance. We came on Sept. 17rh at around 17:30 and there were free tables. Around 19:00, the restaurant was absolutely full.
We had a table on the beach almost next to the water with amazing mountain/sea view.
Tip: check the weather in advance and if any possibility of rain, get a tabke under the roof.
The dessert was on the house and we had a delicious pannacota!
Enjoy this great tavern and go for fresh fish!

A bit if a mixed experience - very busy restaurant in a perfect location. Staff were friendly, if a bit hurried and the service was good. The salads were very good, the veal stifado good, but the papoutsakia was overcooked and greasy. Not sure whether we would return.

The tavern is nicely situated at the end of Nikiana Port, just keep on walking along the other (maybe) also nice taverns and cafes. The road ends in front of the tavern.
When we arrived 11.55 am the owner said it was still closed until 1pm. As it was hot we asked if we could wait at one of the tables in the shade. We were allowed and were not disappointed. The food was really yum. We had cuttlefish with rice and stuffed tomatoes and capsicum. As a side we had a Greek salad which was huge and a meal for itself.
After we paid we even got two desserts for free: Panacotta and something wrapped in dough...it eas sweet but we dont know the name.
Was it worth to go there? Sure. Not only the food was great but also the view. You basically sit at the beach/waterfront under shady trees.

Overall we were very pleased with the food and service. The location though very good and romantic. Very delicious food and prices in reasonable terms compared to the rest of the island that have escaped. If I would write a comment it is that because of the very fast service and the people who were waiting in the wait the food wanted a little better baking. We understand that they try to serve a lot of people but the food must be properly baked. We got a steak with cheese and the cheese was not even hot. Same with the other dishes that wanted 4’-5’ baking more.
