After we had a delicious lunch in the cafe it was great to have a leisurely wander around the gallery next door. There is beautiful art work and wood work on display. We were particularly taken with the small tables and may well have to have a return visit to get one! Well worth the trip to visit!

Simple menu... I had a chicken burger, which was delicious. My husband had a pumpkin salad bowl which he really enjoyed. We had a birdseed slice which was so delicious that I want to make some! The deck has magnificent views but unfortunately for us it was busy and we sat inside... still lovely though as the garden setting is gorgeous. The art gallery is fantastic.... something for everyone.

Must see and eat place to go. View from balcony is amazing and the sculptures are awesome. The food is really nice and you dont have to wait long.

14 Km off S H 1 north of Whangarei turn right at Whakapara signposted Oakura. This is an absolutely stunning place with atmospheric bush walks excellent views. It is well worth the short detour. If you go for the excellent food also enjoy the excellent and eclectic Gallery. If you go for the Gallery also enjoy the really first class food. Cabinet is good and the Daily Menu even better. Not to be missed.

This was a large-ish family gathering to celebrate a birthday. The party included several young children, for whom a selection of toys and books are available on the premises. For an Englishman the road was winding (of course we have winding lanes in England) but long, so it was pleasant to have somewhere like this cafe as a destination. The view is outstanding and the food went down very well in all cases. Service was generally very good considering it was a holiday weekend. The cafe is definitely recommended
The gallery is a commercial operation and offers some rather nice artistic items, including pottery and crafted items. As has been noted, prices are rather high, but maybe this is necessary for individual or low volume goods. Outside there is a garden decorated with objets at various points. Due to the rain we had limited opportunity to explore this.

One of our favorite spot in Northland! Just the view could be enough to justify the trip, but luckily the food is great a swell. And the art gallery is amazing, with all the best local artists works available to enjoy and buy. Don't miss out!

For anyone driving along this coastal road this is a great place to stop either to just get something to eat or just to view the gallery or even combine the both.The food is very good and the staff are great.Anyone who knows the area will confirm that along this coastal road there are very few places to eat.
