For my birthday my wife gave me a dinner in this restaurant, where I had already wanted to go for a while. Fantastic experience beyond our expectations. The place is elegant and refined, the staff, polite and kind, welcomed us and followed throughout the evening remaining always ready and attentive to all the service without ever being intrusive. The chef delighted our palate with the dishes of two tasting menus that we had chosen, adding unexpected and very pleasant surprises. What about: thank you all for the evening we spent!!!!

Experience to forget

A shameful experience to say the least. After having stumbled upon an absurd and inefficient booking methodology (we drove 2 hours to be told that they didn't have our table) they also had the audacity to offend our guests who asked for explanations. Nothing even to do with a serious starred restaurant

Restaurant try to offer sophisticate cuisine but it's not really a success. Many will fit for tourists but try an old trattoria if you want to taste a good kitten. Prices are high.

Had many Lunches and evening meals here over the Christmas period, the food was excellent, wine outstanding, and the staff very helpful, friendly, and made our eating experience rewarding, nothing was too much trouble and the menu was explained to us also if we had any allergy to certain food etc. highly recommended.

Overall fabulous evening!

Our evening was beyond a 10!!! From the minute we walked in everything was impeccable!! Waitstaff was very attentive to our every need. Overwhelming wine list and wonderful recommendations from the sommelier. We started with the chicken terrine and pate. :) Moved onto grilled gnocchi with pumpkin. :) :) I had Smoked lamb as my second course and my husband had the rabbit which was prepared several different ways. Triple :) :) :) Each course was meticulous and better than the previous. This was a meal we will never forget!!

Il Borro is a fantastic place. I will write a review separately because the amazingly beautiful estate doesn't deserve this kind of food. I was looking forward, very much, to eat here. Borgo San Felice is just nearby and it has Poggio Rosso, a 1 star Michelin restaurant. But we preferred to stay here, and in my head, once we arrived at the restaurant, with the superb atmosphere, and (please notice this) the marvelous sommelier/ maitre, our expectations were high. Soulless food. It lacked the spices. We went for the traditional tasting (Tuscan) and apart from the amuse-bounce everything was quite terrible. Il Borro has a small vegetable garden just behind the restaurant, with many varieties of seasons (I've counted 6 varieties of sage) and none was used in the menu. The entrees were tasteless. We had an spinach "dumpling" that maybe only popeye would dig in. Desert was terrifying. It lacked salt. It lacked heart. It lacked soul. This is food for the eyes and not for the stomach. I was wondering... should I come back here in the future? The balance weighed no, after we ate here. Once again, sommelier, if you're reading this, you deserve a big round of applause.

Too pretentious

Stayed at Il Borro and looked forward to eating at this restaurant. Service was absolutely superb. The same cannot, however, be said for the food. When I look at a menu I expect to see at least several dishes that appeal to me. When handed the menu at Osteria del Borro I found myself stretching to find even one dish that appealed to me. The problem appeared to me to be that the chef has tried to be too original in creating his own “signature” dishes and in doing so has created dishes which appear to be fancy but where the components don’t work well together. The chef would do far better to simplify his dishes so people like my wife and myself aren’t turned off by the unappetizing combinations.

Great View, Great Food

We had a multi-course dinner one night while staying at the resort. Each course was perfect, the service was excellent, and the view was amazing. We could definitely come back. P.S. Breakfast at this resort is also notable.

A moment to remember

Osteria del Borro, You like the place, you like the people, you like the atmosphere, but most of all: you like the food. We where here several times (visiting this village for 17 years). The last renovation made the restaurant growing to the top. Try it, you will have the evening of your live! Wishing all the best, Mony&Jan Musch The Netherlands
