We'd read about this place when researching the area, it's in a lovely spot in front of the beach but off the beaten track. It was so so hot when we came, the walk from our hotel at lunch time across the hot sand and along the dusty track was probably the wrong time to come, there wasn't too much of a breeze there. We were served quickly, I had a gorgeous pineapple daquiri (€12) could have done with it being in a long glass rather than cocktail glass, it didn't last long when you're thirsty 😉 and my husband said his Mamos beer was the coldest he's ever had, served with crisps.

A very relaxing place to eat worth seeking out for those who want a more intimate environment than the main town restaurants.Only has about a dozen tables which are well spaced out and afford some privacy.
We ate Sea Bass and salad with houmous and bread.
The food was well presented and the home made houmous was utterly delicious,made without tahini it had a real kick of garlic.
The food overall was about the same standard as we had eaten in most of the other tourist restaurants but the location,service and atmosphere made it memorable.The house wine was also better quality than average with the red being a merlot.

Lovely dining spot away from the main beach area. Lovely ambience and the food was top notch.
I had sea bass and not only was it a very plump fish, but it came with lots of different types of salad and plenty of fries.
My partner had a pizza cooked just how he likes it with certain toppings left off.
Service was perfect. A little more pricey than some tavernas but honestly worth the extra!
I would highly recommend.

Excellent location, venue, staff and food,
Friendly and engaging with a chef and staff who care about the food and the meal experience for their customers.
Generous portions with special dishes on certain days and their Kefalonia Pie was rated the best experienced by one of our family who has been visiting the island for more than 35 years! We love fish and enjoyed the quality and taste of sea bass and sea bream . All the starters were exceptional too and enjoyed all that was on offer.
The chef , at the end of the evening comes round to thank you and asks for your views and opinions on the food . A lovely man who is passionate about his restaurant and your experience. Our thanks to all staff. Also a thanks to Mrs chef, who we never met but prepares many of the special dishes . We were informed she is a Geordie lass!
Thanks again for the many evenings and afternoons and in making our stay in Katelios a memorable experience. We will be back ! Best wishes Sam and Joan Edinburgh Scotland.

What a wonderful find! We came on a Sunday evening at 8pm and we're quickly seated at a beautiful table and we're served quickly. The menu is fantastic and we can recommend the Kebab Portion and Spicy Meatballs. The sunset is gorgeous and the staff are some of the nicest people we've met on the island. 10 out of 10! We can't wait to come back.

Called at Dreamcatchers many afternoons during our 2 weeks, made use of the sunbeds that everyone can use free of charge by the beautiful sea. Always had a lovely cold beer and some thing light for lunch (though portions are large) food fresh and tasty. Called last night I had meatballs to start (though my wife helped herself to a couple), very meaty and flavoursome. Then I had oven cooked, pork with oven cooked potatoes and veg, melted in the mouth, though don't know why the cucumber was on there. My wife had sea Bream which she said was amazing!! Came with veg, salad and pitta she couldn't eat it all. Views are beautiful service is excellent.

It's wonderful to hear that you had such a lovely time with us and extremely rewarding to read your comments (especially about my meatballs (I honestly don't know how many I've made this summer, they're so popular!) I think I got the cooking bug from my Nana😂, as for the service, my kids are half Greek and half Geordie so it makes a good mix! Hopefully we will see you again next year

I cannot praise Dreamcatcher highly enough we have been visiting this Taverna every year since it opened in 2022 and have loved it more every time we visit.
This year our Son Daughter in law and Granddaughters decided to come out to Katelios for the first time and on the second night of their holiday it was our Daughter in laws birthday so we arranged with the owners a special surprise on the night and they went out of their way and set up balloons on the table and even made a wonderful birthday cake for her.
Tonight is our last night of our holiday and Dreamcatcher is our choice for our last evening together in Katelios.
Thank you Nikos Demetri Anna Maria Stellios and Andreas and of course Sarah for looking after us so well.
I am sure we will all return one day.
And it was lovely meeting the latest member of your family this year.

We stayed in the Dreams Beach apartments and Thankfully this Place was right next door. The Views are Fantastic and it was 100 Yards from the Beach and it was a great Place just to Chill and take in the Scenery. We Visited here nearly every day either for Drinks, Lunch or evening meal and can honestly say we had no complaints at all. It is a Family run business and all The Staff were Friendly and the Service was always good. A lot of the Food was homemade and prices are very reasonable. My Favourite Desert was the ‘Orange Pie’ which was To Die for! I would definitely recommend this Place and we will be returning next year.

Had seen signs for this place when walking down to Kaletois beach. Whilst out before dinner spoke to a couple on there way here, they highly recommneded it. Thought give it a go. What a lovely place, a "shack" overlooking St Barbara's beach. It was early and quite full (seems they only do a restricted amount of the specials so worth a call in advance to book). Very friendly staff, small menu, great views. Started with the Feta parcels drizzled with honey, good size portion and well tasty. Main was the Tuna Salad, again portion was large and went down well. The carafe of Red took a bit of getting used to but, was actually really nice. 27€. Tip bring a torch if walking, I got a bit lost on way back and it was really dark.

A lovely family run restaurant. We took a chance on this place and did not regret it. Some of the best pork I've ever tasted served in an informal environment overlooking the sea. Brilliant stuff.

Beautiful location. Very friendly, family run taverna. Nothing was too much trouble. Helpful suggestions on authentic Greek menu. We chose the lamb kleftika and the lemon pork, both cooked to perfection. We had the delicious orange cake (called pie) for desert. The owner spoke excellent English too, even though we tried our limited Greek!

We visited on the Saturday evening and had pre-ordered the moussaka as it was the special. The setting is lovely but we were plagued by wasps throughout the meal. The moussaka arrived and was only lukewarm warm. Staff were friendly but the overall experience was just ok.

Hi Chris, Thank you for reviewing us. I'm so sorry the moussaka wasn't hot enough, especially since it takes me so many hours to make it. Unfortunately we were estremely busy and had to take the tray out of the oven to cook pizzas etc. I do wish you had mentioned it though, we would have gladly warmed it up for you. We drove from Peratata after reading positive reviews however the meal we had didn't live up to expectations, we had a Greek salad, Homemade hummus which was lovely I'll give them that, the Mains were unfortunately very poor , my wife had a Pork with bbq sauce which was overcooked & tough
so she left half of it as she couldn't cut it! I had meat balls but didn't really enjoy them at all although the sauce was good.
No fish on the menu at all so was annoyed when another couple arrived & ordered sea bass!
No one told us this was an option or even a possibility if you preorder, & I'd been messaging the restaurant weeks before we arrived.
Don't understand why the Orange cake gets such a good review ours wasn't very good at all :(
perhaps it was an off day for them at Dreamcatcher but we didn't go back as 1st impressions last.

We're so sorry you didn't enjoy your visit especially as we had been communicating prior to your holiday. I know you were looking forward to trying our home made hummus which we are pleased that you enjoyed. We don't have pork with bbq sauce on the menu so not quite sure about that. I was informed about the fish situation and do apologise for your disappointment but as we do only serve fresh food I'm sure you can understand that fish is ordered to requirements to ensure freshness, which we do actually state on our site :

I can not praise Dreamcatcher highly enough from the wonderful welcome you receive from all of the staff to the delicious food and wine that they serve to their customers. You can see why so many people return time and time again.
Dreamcatcher finishes for the 2023 season on Saturday 30th September for a well- earned break for the staff but if you are visiting Katelios in 2024 you must make sure to call in to experience their fabulous Greek hospitality.

Having read a recent review on Dreamcatcher I admit you can not please everybody all the time but if you have received 80 excellent or very good reviews out of a total of 83 then you must be thought of very highly by your customers and having visited on a number of occasions it is easy to see why.
All of the staff are very friendly and they all seem to make time to have a chat with you even when they are very busy. The food we have had has all been lovely and you get the choice of having chips, lemon potatoes or rice with your main meal which not every taverna offers you.
The rose wine is the best we have had in Katelios and the Rosa in the can which is a red ale was a welcome change from the usual lager served on the island (please stock up for our return in September).
We would also like to thank Sarah and all the staff for the wonderful evening to celebrate our birthdays it is one evening we will never forget and hold the memory in our hearts forever. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
On one evening when we visited there was a power failure in Katelios yet they still managed to make wonderful meals not only for us but other customers as well and the view over to Zante that evening with all the twinkling lights while we ate under candlelight was spectacular.
We are both looking forward to returning in September and are missing Dreamcatcher already.
