Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Six adults, a 4 year old, a 3 year old, a 15 month old and a 4 month old baby - we’d been turned away from other restaurants but not at L’Envie Des Mets. A large table was hastily set up to accommodate us in...the restaurant, a high chair was produced and le patron couldn’t have been more charming. Five of the adults chose the menu of the day and it was absolutely delicious: €17 (or €17.50) for 3 courses - amuse bouche, then melon and feta cocktail, sauté of veal with vegetables (the meat was really tender and the veg was so tasty), followed by peach and vanilla “milkshake”, a smooth, creamy dessert to die for! We had a very good bottle of dry white house wine (€17). The 4 year old had the child’s menu: steak and chips, drink & dessert and loved it. The 3 year old and 15 month old shared our food. The staff were charming. We all agreed it was a fantastic meal, so much so that four of us returned the next day and had an equally delicious meal on the sunny terrace. Highly recommended.More

big surprise in a little village. we were looking for a place for lunch, and it was already quite late. By accident found this little place. they greeted us warmly, and were available for late lunch. we ordered the lunch formula: starter, main and dessert....all 3 surprised us. it was absolutely wonderful. also nice wine menu. nice, fine cuisine, for very good price. we will for sure go back, when we are back in that areaMore

This restaurant changed hands a few years ago and is a much improved ambience and food. Quite a surprise find in this area. They are trying really hard here to make their mark, and I think they will succeed. I would describe the food as...a combination of local ingredients with a bit of sophistication. Generally good grub although portions could be a tad larger. Small but adequate wine list . Reasonable value . I look forward to returning in the summer when one can eat outside in the small rear terrace/yard.More

We found this restaurant during our bike journey along the canal du midi. The place was tastefully renovated 2 years ago, food was really excellent even within the very affordable 15 euro set menu, service was fast and the staff was extremely pleasant

We had to meet some friends and Gardouch seemed to be half way and convenient for both, so searching TripAdvisor, we found this restaurant, What a great find. We all had the set 3 course menu for 17€. Everything was presented very well and delicious....The owner / chef came after to explain that it was so busy and appologised for the short delay, but we never noticed, You feel very relaxed, the tables are well spaced out, unlike some places were it's how many covers can I get in!! Service was excellant, even if the lady serving was really busy. Definatley would go back when next in the area. Would recommend booking as it seems very popular, not a free table when we visited for lunch.More

A little more than a typical village restaurant; care and attention to the presentation of dishes with a seasonal emphasis on ingredients. Relatively stripped down decor is complemented by a blazing fire in Winter, and I'm told, a pleasant outdoor area in Summer. Friendly service...and popularity make for a convivial atmosphere.More

We were passing through Gardouch cycling from Carcassonne to Toulouse and were very tired and hungry. The staff at this restaurant greeted us well, looked after us excellently and the food was fabulous. My friends had a filo paced filled with steamed hake, rice and...vegetables. I had a vegetarian dish of rice and vegetables. For desert we all had chocolate fondant which was delicious. The service was excellent. I would be very happy to return.More
