Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having prebooked a table for 6 inside and in a draft free space . We found our table ready and waiting
Lovely cabinet food generous portions unless you have the eggs and bacon with the thinnest shaved bacon ever.
Winner of the day was the potatoe Rosti and thick sliced bacon and carrot cake .
Generally friendly counter service but you have to get your own cutlery and napkins and water .
A pretty amazing kitchen supply and pre made meals store I was able to stock up on essential oils , spices and enjoyed some lovely treat options .
A real stand out supply store in the Waikato

Firstly the coffee is excellent, infact we had 2 it was so good. We ordered the vension burger and botanical bowl. With passionfruit and white chocolate cheesecake and the raw snickers slice. Our lunch was going to take abit longer, waitress came and told us straight away. I was impresed dont ever remember this happening before. Lunch was worth waiting for, both dishes very delicous. 2nd cup of coffee with our slices, very yum. We will back!!

We called in here for lunch while we were travelling south from Auckland.
All the food looked so delicious it was difficult to make a decision.I enjoyed my carrot soup and my husband had a tomato cheese sandwich that was full of filling.
Highly recommended

We were expecting a quick breakfast before business meetings and the place was disorganised. So disappointed. The staff on were not keeping up and we had to ask for a menu and it took 40 minutes to get our breakfast. Food was good.. Coffee was great but feel annoyed it took so long.

Called in for a quick cuppa, $27 for two small mocha coffees and 2 x cakes was a bit of a shock, maybe I just don't go out often enough.
if the food and coffee had been wow, it wouldn't have been so bad, food was average, mocha was that great either. Staff were friendly and the place was nice and clean.

This place seems very popular and is always busy, sometimes around lunch hours it is difficult to get a table. We've dined here often but its not our first choice, the menu seems limited and tables too close to each other. As in many places in Te Awamutu, you can sit in or outside but as with most of Te Awamutu restaurants if you sit outside it is often quite noisy with heavy traffic (although the main street, Alexandra Street is way worse with milk tankers drive through constantly). So we consider this spot yo be ok and acceptable but, sorry, there are better ones in town.

Red Kitchen had a wonderful range of food.
Our table enjoyed savoury and sweet dishes, which were delicious.
The ‘cup of tea’ was wonderful , according to the older member of the party.
I enjoyed the cheese cake.

Service and coffee - excellent. The breakfast was well below par. Well presented but no substance. 2 poached eggs with 2 small pieces of toast. 2 tomatoes 1 hash brown and a slab of bacon.
We ate there a while ago and the food was brilliant. Today was a disappointment - beyond belief.
Menu offerings were extremely limited.
It is apparent that they are moving away from substantial menu and moving towards counter foods.

Absolutely disgusted Rude waitress
We often go here for breakfast
Also i buy lots of products out of their shop sauces meals etc but i will not be returning
This morning we waited half an hour for hubby to get his breakfast I had to ask where mine was
Polite waitress sorted it and after another 20 minutes mine was unprofessionally placed on table by another waitress i didn’t get her name Short dark hair girl with her hair in a bun she was so rude
On leaving cafe i was outside and same girl charged through on inside of me and hitting me with the big tray she was carrying to delivery food and drinks to tables outside
Yes i might of been a bit slow as just had major surgery but i definitely was not in her way Rather than charging through next time walk round

I zoom in infrequently… and on my last visit I bought a dressing and left it behind. A week later I popped in again to be handed the dressing back “ I think you left this behind last time “. That’s wonderful, personal service, that’s so hard to find atm! I love that the staff are friendly and don’t change. While I’m just a “muffin and coffee “, these are always top quality (gf too!). Thanks RK ❤️

Great coffee and friendly barista. Also has a great kitchen shop within the cafe. Ordered the summer rolls which had mayonnaise in them, not sure why they would include that in what would have been a nice lunch. Mayonnaise doesn't work in that dish. I have mentioned it to others who also won't order them for that reason.

Good food and nice coffee . took my mother there for lunch. average surroundings. Didn’t have the brisket and corned beef sandwiches on menu that was a little disappointing but pie and croque monsieur were excellent.

Had really nice coffee on two occasions when visiting Te Awamutu. Looking forward to lunch at 2.05. Wanted a botanist bowl, no cooking involved. Kitchen closed at 2. No options for low carb - diabetic options. Even a few salad leaves but only ones in cabinet. Potato or noodle. Very disappointing. No wi-fi.

Good coffee and chai latte. A great selection of deluxe goods and very yummy cakes. If I lived in T A I would try the prepared meals. Also it is open for late afternoon goodies.
A delight.

The frozen meal of chicken and porcini lasagne is usually divine- however this time, it was obvious that a rotisserie chicken had been used and it was extremely salty. We couldn’t finish it- would not get again.
