If you're a Kiwi, then you'll know all about eating great fish and chips. Whether battered or crumbed, the fish is great here. The chips are great and you can ask them to cook the chips longer if you like crunchy chips. Enjoy :-)

We rarely get takeaways preferring to eat out. On the rare occasion we do get fish and chips it is always Simply the Best. They have a variety of fish you can order and have crumbed rather then battered if you want (cost a little extra) as well as the normal variety you would expect. It is always well cooked and good portions when you have fish and chip takeaways as rarely as we do you don't want to be disappointed, we never have been.
A recent family event saw family come and visit more often then usual we decided on Simply the Best for dinner for extended family everyone loved it, about a month later some of the same family members were back and wanted nothing more but the same which speaks volumes to me.

Just had gurnard & chips, and mussel fritter, all great as per usual, but the mussel fritter was melt in the mouth sublime! Love, love loved it!

You know, there's hit and miss places (especially in T.A) but more often than not this is a miss.
Busy which is a good sign although possibly alluding to the fact that it used to be the "best" and people simply keep going along in hope of it being the best.
Expensive asf, fish not fresh, pitiful chip portions, steak and cheese burger using soaked/marinated tiny chopped up steak.
Some staff not very friendly, kind of stiff and businesslike, combo deals are very overpriced for what you get. Large menu but also maybe too large, i mean... cook something and do it well if you can.
All in all i have given this place multiple chances and don't recommend. Drive to what used to be Radars (name is escaping me right now, in Kihikihi) if you like fresh fish.

Freshest of fish, lovely crispy melt in the mouth chips, & Paua Fritters are divine! Mike, the owner is always chatty & friendly, and there is an option for salads as well, best to ring your order through, as they are always busy!

Have been here several times but the last time I was not impressed. I got burger and chips and there was 17 chips in the packet. I don't know if they got it mixed up with someone else order for maybe a half chips but it definitely was not a full portion of chips. The burgers are well made and the chips are usually good . Also other food is good as well but the last visit was not a good experience.

Last takeaway fish and chip meal here was disappointing. Everything was soggy and the fish pieces small. Usually the chips are crisp and the batter and fish excellent. A bit of a let down last time out.

What amazing takeaways. traveling down fro Auckland sitting in the warm comfort of the Albert Park Motel the question was asked "what are we going to do for dinner" lets get fish and chips then we can stay in and keep warm and have a couple of wines. So everyone decided what they wanted and a couple of us went to get them. One Gluten free, one small and the others what we got!!! got there premises so clean and friendly helpful staff. Gluten free no problem, 1 grilled fish no batter or breadcrumbs, no problem. 2 seafood baskets massive and 1 of a couple of pieces of fish and chips. Busy they were but no problems. Off back to the units. Well the food was delicious nice fine batter, clean crisp and so fresh.We will be back on our next visit.

Go to this place often after friends reccomended it. So good that they are flat out and often a wait is necessary especially on a Friday. Best to ring your order through by phone. Fish is fresh and cooked from scratch and the chips are not greasy. Have never had a bad experience. Very pleasant staff.

I was raised in a fish and chip shop so i'm very particular!
This is the first time I would give a ten out ten. Excellent takeaways! Crispy batter, not greasy (fatty or oily) at all, and fish was fresh, no bitter or strong end taste.
Congrats to management and staff.
Highly recommend!!

Not just great Fish and Chips but this establishment is run like big boy pro! The fried oyesters are just brilliant - crispy and not oily!
The fried oyesters, pahua fritters and chips were divine.
Although we did not order saw hamburgers
being prepared - cleanliness and process.
A must for all visiting or living in Te Awamutu.

Simply The Best Takeaways have the biggest range of gluten free takeaway food I have ever experienced.
To top it off, their fresh fish is divine! So fresh, it tastes like it has just come off the boat.
I cannot rate them highly enough. Coeliacs - come for a drive - you will love the food and experience of people who love their trade and make sure you food is fresh, hot and tasty.
For those who aren't Coeliac - the food is still amazing!!

It pays to phone your order in first we have waited for 45 minutes to an hour for food but the food has been very good and worth the wait .best advise is order early it could take a while
