This is an up market eating spot in bluff Great food and views Has been closed for a while due to fire Would recommend to the traveler with a few extra dollars

Food was nice ..no problems fresh and tasty . Size of portions quite large.. comes with condiments. service was reasonable for a large group ... you definitely have to book for lunch when we went.. not sure about dinner but I wouldn't chance it..

The food were okay and location was good. But very expensive, it does not justify the price of a dozen of oyster for $56 and a bowl of sea food chowder $36. The waitress were prejudice to us. I was vacationing there to visit my...brother and my niece . Along with me were my Asian family. I live in NYC for more than two decades. It really upset me was when I asked for a drinking water for us to drink since no potable water was served on our table and the table next to us had glass container with drinking water, the waitress only directed me to go to the table where they stock their pitchers of water and for us to get it ourselves. It really disgust me their treatment that instead of leaving 20% tip as I usually do here in NYC, I ended up leaving nothing.More

As an ex Southlander, I always go to Sterling Point and have a meal at the cafe for old times sake. Where else can you view such a wild ocean and coastline in warmth and comfort? The blue cod always tastes wonderful and the service...of the staff is always top notch. It is an awesome place to spend some time taking in the food,the drink and the views. I love oysters but the blue cod is a cheaper option not to be missed if you like fresh,tasty fish.More

We have been to the now "The Oyster Cove" before when it was know as The Drunken Sailor. The new owners have put together a great new menu with a large number of choices. I do not remember ever seeing a menu with mutton birds...on it!!!. So great stuff. We all had our lunch meals on time and were very well cooked and presented. The price is good and you cannot get a better view anywhere. We will be back.More

It's still the same grand location but the windows have been scrupulously cleaned so diners can fully appreciate one of the grandest views available anywhere on earth. The food was fantastic. I had the Squid Salad and my Wife had a rare Rib Eye ....Both were done to perfection. Service was prompt and excellent . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with no hesitation. .More

We decided to take a Sunday drive with our friends - our destination, lunch in Bluff at the Oyster Cove Restaurant. We were seated by the window and enjoyed the views of the sea and all the fishing boats coming in throughout the afternoon. To...make the most of the southern seafood, I chose the Seafood Platter - delicious, perfectly cooked seafood (apart from the squid which was a bit tough). It was a generous serving, three pieces each of mussels in the shell, battered oysters, crumbed scallops, squid, battered blue cod and a lovely piece of smoked salmon as well as a nice fresh salad. My hubby had the Reef & Beef - his steak was cooked rare (as he asked for it) and was accompanied by plump scallops. Our friend had the Oyster Soup and then the Muttonbird Crostini - both were delicious. His wife also had the Seafood Platter. As if we hadn't eaten enough already, we sharerd two deserts - Carrot cake and Chocolate Brownie. Both also very nice. The only complaints would be that the bottle of Riesling we had, was so cold, the flavours of the wine were virtually non-existant, the waitress forgot to bring the water we had ordered, and the wait for our bread and soup to start was quite long - it was just as well we were there for a relaxing time and didn't mind the wait. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.More
