If your staying at the hotel,or need a pleasant eatery...sorry restaurant you wont get better than this . Watching the coming & going of sea craft and the swarming of the sign post by visitors will keep your attention during course's..

A terrible visit here. Waitress was unfriendly and clearly more interested in anything other than us as guests. Tone of voice, snippy, disinterested. Wine list is terrible. Rubbish options by the glass. Local Burger Bar would have been better.

We enjoyed our lunch, the food and the view was excellent. The maître d unfortunately made us feel like a nuisance. The other service staff were lovely.

Seafood chowder at this restaurant used to be exceptional with oysters in it under old management. Now the chowder is starchy with an ordinary variety of seafood without oysters, including prawns which were a bit off. The former quality needs to be regained.

Ideal location and panoramic glass windows making the most of the sea view, but poor service, disappointing menu and food and poor choice of wines buy the glass.

This restaurant has a sign outside with the word "Coffee" on it. When we entered, we were asked what we wanted and ordered a tea and a coffee as it was before lunchtime. When I asked if they had some cake or similar they said..."No, but you can have a look at the dessert menu" I don't usually have dessert for morning tea and didn't this time either. Given this place is opposite the famous signpost and there are hundreds of people a day visiting, I would have thought they would have some carrot cake or similar, even if they bought it from the local bakery and added 100% markup The coffee was excellent.More

Turned up here hoping for a drink and a light bite. Met at the door by a girl that told us they had a special lunch menu for the day for $40pp... great.. but not for us. We said we wanted a drink and a...light bite.. she seemed hesitant but then asked us at the door if we would like to order our ‘snack’.. I asked if we could sit down first and see a menu. She then told us they would charge us a $5 entrance fee as there was a live musician... ok. Someone came to take our drink order... and when we went to order something to eat but share the waitress told us we couldn’t order off the menu... hadn’t we been told that?!? They made a special allowance and allowed us to order- but all felt like such a big deal and none of the staff were on the same page. The musician was way too loud for that sized space... we ate, paid (including extra $10 for the music) and left.. great location but service wasn’t... oh and then the A/c unit leaked all over the bar...More

This restaurant is sited on a beautiful location over looking the entrance to Bluff harbour, with Stewart Is in the distance. Once seated we were given a menu that did not include oysters; Bluff of course being the oyster capital of NZ. On querying the...waitress, she then provided another menu which did included oysters - verry odd, given the name & location. I ordered oysters, my wife ordered oyster soup. She was subsequently told that was not available - lets not forget the name of this place. The oysters were miniscule, as were the servings. The service, on a quiet night, was abysmal. 3 waitresses were in attendance, but seemed to operate a random table support technique. Given the price, a very disappointing experience, offset by the great location - which we could have viewed at no cost from the adjacent public car park.More

A small entree of sashimi tuna, and oysters on a devine salad. Main course was creamed paua cob loaf, the paua was so tender I could have eaten a bucket load, that's how good it was. Staff were attentive and friendly. The view out to...the Strait was a bonus.More

As far as I know they are licensed as a restaurant and bar which means no byo.... Also you need to check they are open, as they had a fire in the restaurant several months ago which needed repairs. (Try their website for... More
