Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We happened upon Wintergreen Maple Products during a summer day trip, and decided to stop in for dinner. What a great decision that was! Not only was the cost of our meal far more than reasonable, but it was ready very quickly, and was absolutely delicious! The host was friendly and talkative, joking and conversing with us like we were old friends. It was an honour to get the tour of the rest of the property, which was an experience like no other. Thank you so much; we look forward to many future visits! *Note to travellers: Wintergreen Maple Products was cash only when we visited, so be sure to have some on hand when you go!

From the Canadian Cathedral, amazing selection of pickled and preserved goods, maple syrup and pies, interesting art displays, outdoor barbeque on Sunday - this place is a one of a kind experience.
Diane and Tom, who is an endless source of interesting stories, was also kind enough to let us park our camper van overnight.
There are no digital payments so bring cash, cheque or leave an IOU. It was funny to see the cash drawer with IOU's. This may actually be a shrewd business move as it keeps customers coming back to pay up.

Visiting this wonderful place was the highlight of our trip! We came back 3 times and bought more products since we tasted them at the cottage and wanted more. The salsa sauce was amazing, the Barbecue flaming peach and Smokey barbecue was great! The assortment of jams, candles, bath bombs, food was incredible! We met Tom the owner who gave us a tour upstairs in his magical little world! What an incredible man! We came the first week with friends and twice the second week with our family. We couldn’t get enough! He is such a gem! Rarely do you find someone who can inspire you, who is so creative, funny and genuine! He is a combination of a true modern day artist and a philosopher. We had a great time at the cottage but Tom and his place made it even more special! We had lunch in the garden which is gorgeous surrounded by flowers, tables and a tent. The smokers with the turkey, pulled pork, strawberry rhubarb pie were delicious! Amazing is all I can say! We wished we knew about this place sooner. We will definitely return! I know we said a lot about Tom who is incredible but it helps to understand and appreciate the vision and execution of the man behind this truly magical place! We highly recommend! You cannot miss this place! Thank you Tom for your amazing stories, your time and your delicious products! We wish you all the best and success and will definitely visit you again!

We visited Wintergreen over the March break with our kids. They enjoyed learning about maple syrup and sampling a few treats from the gift shop. Tom was an amazing host with a one of a kind lodge you have to check out. The trails were well groomed and easy to use as we toured the beautiful property. The gift shop has way more than just Maple syrup - we loved the homemade soups and jarred pickles.
Thanks again Tom!

Almost missed this place. Over the top.
Great Turkey sandwiches, beef sandwiches, pork sandwiches. Very diverse pickles, bbq sauces, maple syrup. Not just food Tom will give you some insight into his world. One of kind place hard to find this now a days. It and green mantle mineral tour both over the top experiences can be done on the same trip. They do not disappoint.

We ran in to get a pie but stayed for an hour as Tom gave us a tour of the upstairs. We got to enjoy Tom’s fabulous eclectic collection of treasures that is enhanced by his incredibly humorous storytelling.
This is a spot you don’t want to miss. Tom & Diane are lovely.

My husband and I dropped in while in the area to pick up some homemade jams, bbq sauces and maple syrup. It has always been so fun visiting this shop with its cottagey gift ware and baskets of homemade products but this time we met the owner Tom who gave us the grand tour of the building and the stories of all of his quirky decor. Sort of a cross between a Red Green homage and the Sistine chapel but its hard to describe LOL! Tom was so animated and loves talking about his business and home.
They have switched from being a weekend maple sugar shack and pancake house to a BBQ outdoor restaurant and indoor grocery with lots of take home meals in addition to their extensive line of jams, sauces, pickled items, maple and baked products and too many more items to list
Well worth the visit and tour from Tom if you have the extra time to listen to a very entertaining guy who loves people and telling his stories.
Will be back again to sample more of their BBQ and takeout food. A real gem of a place.
Take a look at our photos. That's Tom at the outdoor BBQ smoking some pork for their delicious pulled pork sandwiches with maple baked beans.

On our way back to the city, from a school
Camping trip we wanted to stop In and buy some maple syrup. Tom Was outside and opened up the shop for us. He is extremely friendly and gave us a tour, telling us stories behind many of the decorations he has and the things he has built. I’m sure we could have stayed for a while and chatted but we had to get back to school. We will stop In again next year !! Thanks, Tom!!

Wintergreen Syrup and Pancake house was ethereal, magical and whimsical. The pancakes were light, fluffy and delicious! Ask to speak to the owner, Tom. He is wise and philosophical. He welcomed us into his restaurant with stories and open arms. In this place, resides the heart of Haliburton!

My husband and I were visiting the small shops in Minden and were told this one would be a treat! That was an understatement. Tom greeted us when we arrived and we got the grand tour of the entire facility. There is so much meaning in everything he has created, history, nostalgia and most of all pure love for what he and Diane have created. A must see...we missed a meal but will for sure go back to complete the experience. We did take home some preserves, fantastic! You don't want to miss the hosptiality.

What a great time I had on the weekend enjoying the food festival featuring local food vendors and restaurants. Despite the rain, what fun with lots of information, free samples, music for all, prizes, silent auction, and much more that I can't put it all down. Wintergreen itself has many many products over and above Maple Syrup so just wandering down the isles of jars, preserves, is an experience in itself. Highly recommend Wintergreen for the entire family and there is a restaurant as well. Will definitely come back with the Grand Kids!!

It was my first time at this place! I come from an Indian background and was looking forward to try some authentic Canadian food that day.
And then I was warmly welcomed and greeted by Tom,an amazing personality. He gave me a detailed tour of the place and the history behind it too!I absolutely loved every bit of the details!and the food of course was fabulous and lip smacking! I would definitely recommend the place for anyone who wants to experience countryside Canadian food specially all the Indian folks out here.

My wife and I make a point of visiting Wintergreen whenever we’re at our cottage near Minden. Today we took part in the Cottage Social by enjoying their delicious Blueberry Crepe with tasty maple syrop, recently made on-site.
After eating, we went upstairs to see the amazing trove of unique, one of a kind collectibles put together over the years by one of the owners. See my photos below of these, as well as of the fabulous structures and unusual items on the grounds behind the main building.
Going off the beaten path to experience Wintergreen for yourself is highly recommended.
