Great food, nice atmosphere but don't expect to eat soon!

We ate here three times during a nine day stay in Valle Gran Rey. It was by far the best restaurant we tried but the kitchen was very slow. On the wort night we waited 30 minutes for a cold starter and then another 30 minutes before the main courses arrived. The wiaiters were excellent, the problem was with the kitchen, they either need to reduce the number of tables or better manage the arrival times of customers to spread the load. The food however was very good so worth the wait.

We first ate here on a Saturday night, it was fiesta, they were run off their feet, and we had no reservation. The waitress saw us and found us a table with no stress, and with a smile. The service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the shrimps in brandy, cream and honey sauce. My husband had pasta in a mushroom sauce. Both were delicious. The sauce with the shrimps was one of the best I've ever tasted. We returned on the Tuesday evening, when I had the fish of the day in a Tarragon sauce (again superb). My husband took the watermelon gazpacho then the fried shrimp with pesto and garlic mayonnaise, followed by pears poached in red wine and cinnamon with vanilla ice cream. Everything was wonderful. The wine was good, the service always friendly and helpful. The bill was perfectly reasonable (less than 50€ for two on both occasions, including drinks). Highly recommended.

Perfect!

I've had 5 dinners here and I tried most of the menu. They serve only fresh fish (not the defrozen one like many restaurants around the area) so not every evening you can have it but when they have it...try the tuna tataki! They cook on the fly in an open kitchen and everything is really delicious. I expecially loved their duck filler. They have also a good selection of wines and the staff is always nice and kind.

Delicious food and very nice service

We ate at La Salsa because of the good reviews and were not disappointed. The food was delicious (we had the daily special of beef fillet strips with parmesan on rocket - very tasty and perfect) and the service was also extremely friendly and courteous. If you want a table outside, you should make a reservation. The restaurant is in the second row, so you don't have such a nice view, but that doesn't detract from the good food. We would definitely go back.

Yes we had to wait but we arrived at 21.00 without a reservation. Food was mouth meltingly delicious and the waiting staff were delightful. My poor husband has to be gluten free but there was still a wide range of food that he could enjoy. Very reasonably priced for such good cuisine. We will definitely return 💖

Wow just wow

We called in on the off chance they had a table. And managed to sit outside as the table was booked for later. The staff explained that they would need the table later but let us eat. Stunning food just stunning. Prawns in pesto, fish soup and a spinach and ricotta pasta with mushrooms. It’s well worth a visit 5 stars

If you don’t eat there you’re missing out!

So make sure you reserve a table - it's worth it! The restaurant is small but nice with a clear menu that includes everything that is worth eating. We went there twice - unfortunately, due to departure, we couldn't have more :-( The first fish evening with dentex in coriander-basil or basil-tarragon sauce after a starter (grilled provolone cheese with figs), was followed on the second evening by duck breast fillet and strips of pork fillet from Iberio pork with excellent mash made from sweet potato/potato/beetroot. Not only extremely tasty, but also beautifully presented!! The small wine list leaves nothing to be desired (in terms of quality and price).. and the dessert (try it) - the perfect icing on the cake after a perfect meal. The service: friendly, attentive All in all = 2 perfect restaurant evenings on La Gomera

Food with a portion of passion

A warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is obviously that the people in this restaurant have a passion for food and the experience of trying new flavors. The prawns in a cream sauce with honey so very very tasty. Also the fish that my wife had. Attentive and efficient waitress with a very beautiful smile. (forgive me for the Spanish full of errors)

Good food, friendly service, reservation required

Unfortunately they didn't have any fresh fish. We had a beef fillet instead. After some initial difficulties choosing the degree of doneness (we don't speak Spanish), it was perfectly prepared. The starters (fish soup and shrimp with mojo) were also great. The red wine served in the carafe was great. The service was also very friendly. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, further visits failed because often nothing works without a reservation. And we don't like to commit ourselves in advance.

Cooked to perfection

We had the fish of the day and Iberian pork main meals, and both were cooked to perfection. The sauces were beautifully balanced to complement but not overwhelm the main ingredients. So good, we're going again.

Not cheap

The food is good. The service is good. The prices are high. If you are well off this may be the place for you. The atmosphere is not good as is the case when wealthier people are the customers. We are not well off so won't be back

Very tasty meal

The gratinated penne dish was rich with fine parmesan cheese, the tortilla unusually good and the gambas in a delicious sauce. An excellent meal all in all.
