If you are vegetarian, it’s not the best place to go. I ordered a vegetable plate without some that I cannot eat, and they said they didn’t have enough veggies to prepare me a meal. Hmmmm. Suggestion: „Try the vegetable curry“. This meal was very boring - AND it included the veggies I cannot eat. Hmmm. Bad reaction, blaming the cook, no apologies. I won’t eat there again, but - it smelled very nice so I guess people who eat meat are in the right place. And the male waiter was charming.

We visited the restaurant by chance because it was close to our hotel and were so enthusiastic on the first visit that we were there almost every evening. Friendly and warm service. Diverse food, also vegetarian and vegan and every food was very delicious, good house wine and sangria. Price-performance absolutely fine and even if it was breaking full (reserve Friday and Sunday table), the wait was kept within limits. Our favorite food was the tapas for 2. Conclusion: Highly recommended!

My daughter and I came across the restaurant by chance and decided to eat there. We had the dish with the Iberico pork and the island fruit. We were served attentively, friendly and quickly. The food was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. For dessert we had the homemade ice cream. Simply wonderfully creamy and very tasty. Because we enjoyed it so much we wanted to eat there the following days. Unfortunately it was closed on Friday and Saturday and we had to drive home again. If we come to Gomera again we will definitely eat at Abraxas. Many thanks to the team

Well presented restaurant, nice atmosphere, cosy seats very nice terrasse. The waitress is welcoming and the service is nice. But the food standard isn’t great, and more expensive than whats in the area. If you like paying for the place and not for the food ; this is your restaurant !! Very basic plates and way too salty . I had tuna and my boyfriend had the fish of the day; both plates presented with lots of salad decoration (not eatable, no sauce, not salt, nothing just salad) and the fish - and that was it! Pretty to watch, but just okay to eat. The best part was when we ordered the wine, Verdejo as we are 100% Verdejo lovers. When we got our bill, we saw the price wasn’t the same, so my boyfriend went to see the lovely waitress to see if there was a mistake? She completely changed her behavior and answered abrutly « This is my house and I know what the house wine is and there is no mistakes » ; yes there is we didn’t ordered house wine but Verdejo … anyway if you read some comments you will see she is very pushy on alcohol consumption. To sum up; there’s better restaurants around with GREAT food , and cheaper . For example, the one just near them is absolutely incredible ; we ate there 2 nights in the row! Good luck 😊!

The food was great. Hats off to the female chef for that. I can recommend the tuna. However, the service is atrocious. Jose tries his best, but the female owner dashes around like a headless chicken barking orders at him and expecting him to drop everything he's doing to pander to her whims. We ate here a few times because it was close to the hotel, and as I said, the food is good, although limited. The last straw was when we waited over 1 hour to be served, then another 45 minutes for the main course. We ended up losing g the will, added up what we ate, and handed over the cash. She said nothing.

The Abraxas in Valle gran rei on La Gomera is a wonderful discovery. The map is pleasingly clear. The dishes are not only very delicious but also a treat for the eye. The price-performance ratio is extremely good. The two service personnel, husband and wife, are enormously friendly. For my part, they wouldn't have to be so nimble. Once you have a drink you can make "tranquilo". I've had tappas, grilled tuna steak and dessert so far, good wine and everything was perfect. I'm looking forward to next time.

We ate at Abraxas 4 times during our vacation and can only say: TOP 👍 Very friendly and attentive service, great food of top quality!!!! There is really nothing to complain about here!!! We don't know what Mrs Nicole B. had to complain about here... We would recommend this great restaurant at any time!!! Owner-managed and not a tourist rip-off!!! Thank you for four lovely evenings with you! Bernd & Anja

This is a small place a bit off the beaten track that we spotted while searching for a place to eat. There is no sea view to talk about. It is actually a small german restaurant. The fish we ordered was fresh and tasty and service was good. Recommendable.

Having read reviews had high expectations. Service started off ok but when didn’t order starter seemed to go downhill. Devilled chicken advertised as hot was milder than a uk korma. Iberico pork chop nice. Some people got one or even 2 free drinks we didn’t get one. The staff were not interested when we left didn’t get a thank you.

For me it's the most creative kitchen on LA Gomera, or in VGR... Was always delicious... I will come again

Good food. Portions were a bit small. Confusion rules so who gets served first or last is a complete mystery. But it is all done with such a charm and friendliness nobody really cares. We are on holiday after all. Worth a visit.

The restaurant is not one to stop you in your tracks, the inside is dull and not interesting but the food is. I had a vegetarian option it was a huge portion spicy and well presented , my husband had the pork . I would recommend a visit friendly service with an adorable dog

Just got back to our hotel after eating at Abraxas. Excellent pork and chicken Thai curry. Also banana fried with ice cream was brilliant. Starters of fish soup and stuffed avocado were great as well. A very enjoyable evening

Had a lovely meal here last night on a recommendation from a friend, so glad we did, great atmosphere, lovely fresh food, friendly staff. I had fish of the day which was lovely in spite of us not knowing what the English for it was and the husband had the tuna which was fresh and cooked to perfection ( not too pink) we finished with a lovely honey liquor which was just yummy and will definitely be having one of those again. Unassuming little place but superb. Also lovely black spaniel Nina to pet. Best of far in VGR :)

Over roughly a decade we spend some time each year at the VGR and have visited Abraxas each time. So we know the place at a time before star spangled chef Frank Rosin showed up to help them out of whatever misery and put them on TV. What has changed? Place looks different because of new painting and pictures. Nothing fancy. Service seems to be much better organized. Which was in the past sometimes a problem. One needed time when having dinner there. The menu seems to be reduced. Less items, more fish. Kitchen crew changed. This has raised some expectations as the new Chef has worked in a star awarded restaurant before. Food quality on a good level but the *star* twist is missing. The plates are not overloaded which has been the case before. Wine list acceptable. I am not expecting he Abraxas to turn into a gourmet temple now. But with the new Chef and Frank Rosin pictured everywhere I did expect something. A twist. A Special. Whatever. This did not happen. Pricing is on above average level. On the plus side try their homemade liquors and brandys. Tasty. To sum it up. Expectations not met. But overall good. Normally I would rate the place with 4 points. But as Wolfram (The Boss of Abraxas) and Kerstin ( the soul and heart of Abraxas) are such nice people, working hard to make their guests feel well, I cannot help but rate them with 5 points. Keep up the good work guys and find that twist that makes Abraxas unique.
