Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent the day at this restaurant with some colleagues from our company. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful and the food was quality! All the staff were super helpful and very accommodating too. The highlight was definitely trying calcots for the time. Highly recommend it...and can't wait to go back next year!More

I've been to this masia a couple times in the past, and I have left more than content every single time. The food is authentic Catalan, the restaurant itself is absolutely stunning with really interesting history to it, and the staff is super friendly. The...calçots are a absolute must, very different to anything I have had before. I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Barcelona and even to the locals. Congrats Can Carbonell!More

I went to this restaurant with my Spanish colleagues for a business lunch and enjoyed it tremendously. The food was excellent and extremely tasty. Traditional Catalonian dishes from a wide menu were served and the quality was outstanding. The building of the restaurant dates from...the 13th century and inside the atmosphere is cosy and warm. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting and trying out. I will be back there again.More

We have been to this restaurant four or five times per year over the past 5 years- always a pleasure! Try the Dorada or Lubina or the Bacalao as you like it - in the woods you will not find better fish! Also the rabbit,...duck and canalones are fantastic... Not to forget the calcots! Enjoy the pan con tomate you have to make by your self and drink the white Envidia cochina- love it!More

If I could give a 0 or even less, I would! Let me just list all disappointing aspects of this event. We were 12 people. - The menu offered only two dishes to chose off. - The appetizers were were 1 piece of cheese and...1 piece of fuet (sausage) per person: pathetic - Had to ask about 10 times for different items, basic ones, like salt, water, wine, drinks in general and bread - the soup was not home made and served cold. - the first dish ran out of one option, so there was no choice - the main dish, where we could chose between fish and meat, was terrible. The fish was burnt outside, and uncooked. The meat was served without asking how people wanted it. By the way: not even a tiny side dish. - the desert was poorer than poor: orange sorbet in its cheapest and most unpresentable way. - the service was slow and not professional when forgetting drinks - we were sitting upstairs: an ugly, old looking, cold room with a tiny window - even when checking out I had to wait 10 min since they did not know how to repair their defect machineMore

Can Carbonell means a drive ... you are not going to get there any other way. Given that, there are a lot better restaurants in the Barcelona outskirts to drive too than this one ! And it doesn't come cheap, Sunday lunch was nearly 30...euro a head for 4 (including 2 kids) and no appetiser .More

nice traditional rustic finca with rustic food, the calcotts are really good when in season, like a walk back in time and surrounded by countryside without being far from barcelona

Off the beaten path, on an unpaved road outside of Barcelona. Surroundings not that interesting. Service was good, also taking into account that we were in a large group. The calcots were not very good. Way too green inside, and too "onion-y". The bread and...the calcot sauce were very good. The meat was dry, nothing special. The red wine was, as often in these occasions, barely drinkable, as expected from a bottled wine without even the indication of vintage. The lemon sorbet, on the other hand, was excellent. Overall not a memorable meal, although the excellent company more than made up for it. Would not go back.More

Maybe we were unlucky but the service was slow, we waited more than 1/2 hour to get the first course then the place was really noisy, many kids. The first was good (cargols) but the second course (entrecot) that we ordered medium, came well done....The waiters looked a bit pissed as they were not enough for the number of people eating.More

Location is perfect, you are in the mountain but so close to the city at the same time. I was there on a business lunch the other day,,, we had calçots, cargols, mongetes, and steak,,,, the more I ate the better the taste. I highly...recommend this place as a perfect weekend lunch. Ideal for families and couples. Service/Staff is really nice and helpful too. Price is ok, not crazy and not cheap.More

It's a very old Catalan "farm house" ("masia") in the middle of the woods, serving traditional Catalan food. Good quality, reasonable prices, good service. The only pity is that they don't open every night, as they formerly did, so you better call them to make...sure that the restaurant opens the night you wish to have dinner.More

I visited the restaurant by without any prior recommendations because it was the closest place on my way. However, I was amazed by the quality of food, service and the building which has been built in the 13th century. The price is not cheap but...I believe it is good value/money and it is a good place to try some of the catalán food.More
