Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here 15 years ago the night before we got married, formerly called Hugo’s, and WOW it has been completely transformed. Absolutely beautiful setting as before, great service and the food was a taste sensation! If you’re in Barbados-this place is an absolute must….

Lovely restaurant, fantastic service with very attentive and welcoming waiters, great food using local ingredients with unexpected twists. The cocktails are very good too. Bit on the pricy side but a really nice experience. Stunning view from the top deck, we caught the sunset.

The atmosphere was great, a live singer and great weather to go with amazing food. The food itself was exquisite and couldn’t have asked for more. Service itself was great - our waiter was very attentive and checked on us multiple times and also kept...our glasses full. Didn’t have to wait long for food to arrive.More

Amazing food - probably the best meal we had on the island. The food was a lot tastier & better priced than a lot of the main restaurants that we were recommended and it was just as amazing of a venue. Every course was so...tasty and the guac was made in front of you! The live music was a lovely touch & service was perfect. We were only one of 2 tables in the restaurants so not sure if it gets busier on different nights but it was a great spot to watch the sunset.More

Situated on the West Coast, in Speighstown, this Cuban influenced restaurant, situated where Hugo's once operated, offers high quality food, in a relaxed environment, with first class service. Too many dishes are our favourites but the Pataconas & the Pork Belly stand out.

Dined for my birthday on a trip to Barbados. We had dined here last year and the excellent food and experience remain. The cocktails and wine are very good. The tostones and pork and table made guacamole with an egg, both tasty. Salmon and chicken...delicious. Desserts the same. The views can’t be beat dining at sunset. The wait staff is excellent - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. They sang for my birthday, sounded good and gave a sparkly dessert. Very enjoyable evening. Enjoy coming here when in Barbados.More

We stumbled upon Baia completely accidentally on our last visit to Barbados. Driving by and noticed the beautiful restaurant at the waters edge. We were lucky enough to be able to get a table for 3 at the back of the restaurant with a spectacular...view of the ocean, moonlight and ate a beautiful dinner to the sounds of the waves. Wife menu selection with options for vegetarians and a good wine selection. This is a very romantic setting and dinner is pricey when you include cocktails/wine. The food was delicious and the servers were very attentive, friendly. Definitely worthy of a special occasion or a special treat.More

We booked this restaurant in advance of our arrival in Barbados. It’s a relatively new establishment on the seafront with two levels, a bar and casual seating and plenty of space between dining tables. We opted for the small plates and had a number of...dishes including the Tuna tostada, pork belly and pulled pork. All the dishes were delicious and I would highly recommend the Tuba tostada and the pork belly - we often eat pork belly in restaurants and I can honestly say, this was the best I have ever eaten. We chose a bottle of Albariño, because the restaurant just happened to have our favourite on the wine list. It was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.More

My husband, son and a friend of ours were in Barbados for a week. My son and I reviewed restaurants that weren't far away since we were staying in Holetown. Baia seemed to us a very good choice and it was. It's on the water...in Speightown in a two story modern building. It serves Peruvian -fusion food. Everything we had was delicious from the short rib to the chicken and the fresh fish. We all raved about our entrees. This is a fine dining establishment and the prices reflect that. You have to remember though that the Barbados dollar is about twice as much as the US dollar so cut the prices in half. If we ever return, I would definitely dine here again.More
