Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a find. Went to Villa Nine for breakfast, great service, great seating, ( sat outside on the verandah with sun pouring in, it was wonderful!). Great coffee had the buckwheat pancakes which were probably the best pancakes that I have had at any NZ...cafe/restaurant.More

We had great breakfast at Villa nine this morning. All the meals were beautifully presented and tasty. Lovely service from the staff. The shop has some really interesting decorations as well as a selection of health food and supplements for sale

I chose the steak burger with a side of Kumara fries and my wife had the prawn and bacon salad. Both were really excellent. First rate chips, great burger bun with loads of very good salad. The steak was a very nice piece of great...quality. Her salad had 6 or 7 large prawns with bacon done just right, crispy but not dry. Really excellent lunch and from our limited experience the best in town. Their coffee is also very good. We ate on the terrace, but inside it is very cozy. Terrific for a wet day.More

A friend and I spent a lovely couple of hours sitting in the outdoor area catching up and enjoying fresh healthy salad bowls. Pleasant staff, well-presented food and no wait time.

We were in the quirky, quaint Te Aroha for several days and got the chance to try most of the eateries. This is by far the best breakfast/lunch spot. The dishes we had were all super tasty - prepared with fresh, healthy ingredients - and...beautifully presented. The chicken salad is divine, the vegetarian plate fantastic. And the coffee is delicious as well.More

Yesterday we found the coffee good, and a passionfruit curd small cake excellent. The shock came from a so-called muffin which should never have been passed off as proper food. It was more like a 6 year old's first attempt in the kitchen...truly dreadful...undercooked or...over-floured or quite possibly both. This tasteless blob was a few blueberries and slithers of apple held together by what resembled wallpaper paste. This was unacceptable from any cafe, least of all from one that claims superior food.More

Great food with a selection of classics seen on modern chic cafes along with a great selection for vegans and healthy eating. Also sells fresh veg and health food shop products I.e. teas, lotions, homeopathic, seeds etc. Highly recommend the raw raspberry and white chocolate...slice. Wow it was delicious. The building and decor are shabby cute. We will definitely be back to sample more great food.More

We enjoyed our chicken salad and ham&kumra stack! There is a garden with fruit trees to sit under and a shop where you can find all kinds of healthy things like tea, coffee, vitamins, foods. Lovely place for a lunch or coffee.

Beautiful organic coffee. Mainly gluten free food. Always options for those with sensitivities. The food is delicious. Nice staff. A range of products to buy - often organic. Atmospheric. Just go - it’s great.

This is an unexpected little café away from the busy high street. An historic building with character decor. Friendly service and interesting little nick nacks. Health food, organic teas, cards and seeds. Resident cat and quaint garden. We sat outside with our dog and enjoyed...a salad and burger with amazingly fresh delicious fruit smoothies. Highly recommended for a healthy lunch after the Spa and/or a walk around the beautiful Domain.More

I've eaten here a lot, so was surprised on my last visit to be presented with a well burnt corn fritter hidden at the bottom of a stack. Giving feedback at the end of the meal, I was told, in quite an offhand way, that...the fritter just looked cooked. If a Health shop cant tell the difference between burnt and cooked they're in serious trouble. Failing to get any apology on the day, I came home and sent Villa Nine a FB message with a photo of the burnt offering. That was 5 days ago, the message has been seen, and still no response, nor apology. So I'm going public. Here's the photo.More
