Dutch pub meal next to big sand mountain

Meal for four of us at this Dutch pub. Siting outside under cover gives a good view of the dune. Food was good although there was no English menu but the waitress soon listed off the options. Toasties and pancakes were the selected fare and all were good.

What a mockery this 'restaurant'! There are a lot of different girls out there who are all allowed to perform a strict task of their own. The person who takes the order does not bring it and the person who brings new drinks may not bring the empty glasses.. Super inefficient all of them. We first had to wait more than half an hour for some bread with spreads and then another 45 minutes for our main course.. When we asked if our order had been passed on because it took so long, we were told that they thought we were still enjoying our starter (that bread ..!) and therefore we were not served the next course! After this conversation it took forever, while we both ordered a simple dish. Due to the long wait ordered many more drinks than necessary and ended up paying far too high a bill for a regular bite and poor service. Really sucked, not going and certainly not for dinner with hungry, tired kids.

There are no drinks on the menu, which I find strange in itself. We ordered a tuna salad and croquette sandwich, plus 1 iced tea and 3 Spa reds. I think the amount of 40 euros is quite excessive. There an iced tea cost 3.30. The prices on the menu for the salad and croquette sandwich also differed from those on the voucher, which I find sloppy. I want to be informed in advance before I make a choice and not be surprised by the price afterwards. With the exception of a few, the service is uninvolved, disinterested and rude. This was once but not anymore

At 7 o'clock there was no fresh orange juice. Oranges were in a basket on the bar. Felt pads were thrown across the table. Wrong order. Everyone eating. The other one more than 10 minutes later. No coffee at 9 o'clock because the machine was already clean. The toilet was cleaned at 9 o'clock so we had to wait until they were ready. Everything was already cleaned around us. Conclusion: we will never come here again. There were 9 people.

Great food!!

Delicious food. We had ordered spare ribs and salmon from the bbq, with pamper coffee for dessert. Everything was really delicious. Nice and tender, salmon perfectly baked and nicely seasoned. Desserts were delicious. Also very nice service, and all for a very mild price. Highly recommended!! There were two of us, but this would have been great with the kids too. In front of the restaurant is the climbing dune, where they can play endlessly.

The owner could not appreciate that we asked for the meal we ordered. Having to wait for an hour (busy seison) before the waiter brings out the wrong dish is not nice but can happen. The attitude / comments of the owner made this an experience to quickly forget. They will not see us there again.

Disappointing...........

Have eaten here several times before and have to say this time was below standard. The service was rather unfriendly and offhand although improved towards tip time! Hmmmm Our daughter had mussels and left most of them as gritty with sand. My husband had sate which was ok. Such a shame this eating establishment has deteriorated and hopefully takes comments on board. Would we return? Not sure as many other places of higher quality and better service.

Excellent venue next to the dunes. We enjoyed cold bier and fabulous sandwiches while the kids ran in the dunes. Good service. A little pricey but the sandwiches were very exciting

Wonderful from start to finish

We ate here on our last evening in Schoorl, what a great place the artwork on display was very good and the surroundings very relaxing. We were served by Jasmine, what a lovely young lady, she was very patient and translated very very well. 5 of us had the three course meal, I'm glad we did. It was exceptional. We felt very welcome and were very impressed, my son and his friend were so impressed they gave Jasmine a couple of hugs. When we got outside one of our group had a fall, Jasmine came out to help and phoned a taxi for us. Another waitress offered a lift to those who couldn't fit in the taxi. If you are in Schoorl, go and visit. If you're not in Schoorl, still go and visit.

I've been going here since I was 7 years old, decenia later I still go here. Great for kids, great for adults. Friendly service, nice ambiance and simple but great, great food. Prices aren't low but definitely not high. Absolutely recommend to anyone.

Open fire for our comfort; "gezellig". Above moderate price, but below moderate food quality. Cost for simple bread and spread € 8,50 what is rather rediculous! Medium steak is really medium steak, OK! Some guests had white wine what was of low quality. Vegetables were OK and had still bite. Dessert with 3 balls ice cream with fresh fruit was fine. Coffee was just lousy and was just brown and warm. Overall a nice place but not a good restaurant. Service was excellent and nice.
