We reserved three places online at short notice. That worked without any problems. The choice of table in the restaurant was not perfect, but was kindly corrected upon request, so that we had a nice table outside. The drinks order was quick. It was noticeable that the service staff had difficulty assigning the orders to the right tables. We were offered a total of 7 main courses (even before we ordered)... In contrast to the other guests, we got our food relatively late. That could explain why it was cold. My Schoorl pizza was baked properly, but so cool that you could put the back of your hand on it without any problems. The cannelloni (2 pieces) were only half warm. The Ruccola pizza was perfect. After the complaint, both dishes were recooked and were then hot again. We had expected different quality. For example, instead of fresh spinach leaves, a pureed frozen spinach mixture was spread on the Schoorl pizza and over the cannelloni. The filling of the cannelloni consisted of a relatively dry and very compact minced meat mixture. There was little tomato sauce and little baked cheese draped over it. We didn't find the Gorgonzola described on the menu. The cannelloni were also served on a plate, not in a casserole dish fresh from the oven as usual... The dish looked a little like it had been heated in the microwave. This also fits in with the fact that one of the two was cold and the other lukewarm when served. The two pizzas were of average quality. Nothing special. The service was friendly and attentive. 65 euros for three main courses, some baguette beforehand and three large drinks, from today's perspective, rather cheap. Conclusion: Pizza good, cannelloni not recommended. We will try other restaurants for the rest of the holiday. Nevertheless: Thank you very much for cooking. 🤗

La Grotta is a cozy Italian restaurant in the middle of Schoorl. We received a friendly welcome and the service was super fast and very service-oriented. The starters, mushrooms on toasted bread and vitello tonato, were generous, but could have been a little spicier for our taste. the pizza calzone (standard) was well filled and delicious. Also tasty dough. Desserts, Dame Bianca and mandarin ice cream, excellent. In short, a place to come back to. Very good price/quality ratio.

Fine pizzeria

Were curious about this restaurant, on our regular route into town, but did not have the opportunity to sample their dishes. Had nice, well-made pizzas here, very tasty and filling. Try the rucola pizza, but the spinach-gorgonzola one is not to be spurned either!

Came in late but diner was served fast by nice staff. Loved the pizza and risotto. Nice to have a look in the kitchen, where the chef was making pizzas. Nice dessert served in a frozen lemon, got a free glass of delicious limoncello too!

Mixed reviews, then it remains a challenge to eat there. Conclusion, we are very pleasantly surprised, very friendly people in the service, the food was more than good. It's been a long time since I've eaten a perfect scaloppina gorgonzola, but what was served here was more than I expected. Quality of everything on the table was more than good and certainly very fresh. Our compliments, we will definitely be back here again!

The food and service were far from great. All dishes where disappointing. They didn't put in allot of love and effort in the dishes and service. Wouldn't advice to go here.

Authentic pizzas

I've been to Rome....But the pizzas here were just like the best pizzas we had in Italy. If you like Italian style pizzas, you should give it a try. Stay away if you're in to the thick crusty American style. Nothing wrong with the service. I even heard some Italian in the back....

Just a good Pizzeria

We visited the pizzeria on a sunday-evening, week before Christmas. Personnel was friendly. We ordered Bruschette and tomato-soup as starters. Good portion of Bruschette, and the soup tasted delicious. Pizzas we good, nice crust, good filling... Delicious homemade Tiramisu. Espresso, well not really...

Chaos but nice food

We were here during our holiday. In the restaurant everything seemed to go wrong. Missed bookings, people waiting ages for take out. A table that was not cleaned properly for new guests,glasses falling etc etc. And all this we saw before ordering our food. But honestly everything that went wrong was around us. We received a nice table and good service. The food was nice. The sauces of the pastas were flavorful but to greasy. The pizza was very tasteful, as a good pizza should be. It only needed a minute longer in the oven to be perfect.

We"ve been many times in Italy. But in Netherlands we are at first. We visited beautiful place-Schoorl. Some people recommended for us an Italian restaurant " La Grotta". It was amasing. This day was like a day in Italy. A staff of La Grotta was very friendly. We ate fresh pasta. I didn"t see the differense between Italia and this restaurant. If anybody come in Schoorl I reccommend to visit this beautiful family restaurant.

Hunting for Pizza !

Very nice little Italian Restaurant/Pizzeria with a good mix of traditional meals and modern meals. Fresh homemade Pasta and tasty Pizza. Only three points because of too much sauce on the pasta and too many toppings on the Pizza. "Less is more !" Good and polite service with familiar atmosphere.
