While travelling we stopped for dinner in Gore and had Thai at the Bamboo Tree again. Still good honest tasty Thai food. Even with just the owner out the back the meal still arrived promptly.

Food was ok but service not so good. One of the staff or owner was abrasive, unfriendly and unhelpful.

It's a few months since dining at the Bamboo Tree Gore and wasn't dissapointed. Simply has to be some of the best Thai food I've eaten outside of Thailand. I ordered a simple well worked chicken fried rice and they nailed it.

My husband and I visited Gore for two days. We looked over the various dining places and selected the Bamboo Tree and are very very glad we did! We often eat Thai food and are quite familiar with it, but the Bamboo Tree has a...large menu with some unusual dishes not often encountered in other Thai restaurants. We particularly liked the "Drunken Noodles," a spicy noodle dish which we had with pork. We also had the red curry with beef, and it was rich and creamy. We liked the food so much we went back again the next night and had the Chicken larb (a spicy salad) and the Pam him ma pan -- something I'd never had before -- which was a lovely sweet and spicy stir fry. I should say all of these mains we ordered included vegetables in them. We also tried the fish cake appetizer which we enjoyed . As you can probably tell, we like spicy food, but the restaurant also has many mild options. f you have never had Thai food before, the chef (a friendly and very talented Thai woman) can advise you on what to order, and I suggest you ake her advice! She knows what she is talking about. The only little complaint I have is that the rice portions served with curries and stir fries are a bit too small; you can order more rice, but there is an additional charge. If I lived in Gore I would eat here regularly! I should note that the Bamboo Tree has several tables and a small, but nice, dining room, but seems mainly to do a takeaway business. They do not serve any beer or wine, but you can bring your own and pay a small corkage fee.More

Fancied some Thai on a weekend in Gore. So glad we believed the good reviews we read about Bamboo Thai. Their takeaway menu had a good range and reasonable prices. The service was good and we didn't have to wait too long. I have to...say the coconut rice was the best we have ever had, either here or in Australia, and the Massaman curry was lovely. Can definitely recommend it, and will be very happy to return when we are in the area.More

Popped in for a cheap and cheerful Thai Curry for lunch which exceeded all expectations. Don't be fooled by the functionality of the decor. Our curries were packed with beautifully cooked fresh vegetables in a rich flavoursome coconut cream sauce; this was hands down my...best ever red curry. Keen to return and check out the rest of the menu.More
