On a 5 week road tour of NZ passed through Gore. Wanted a light lunch. It is what it is - a simple basic local cafe. Nothing fancy but perfectly okay for a quick bite and drink en route to next destination.
Extremely disappointed, took my grandfather out for his birthday lunch ordered a bowl of chips and got a measly little handful of chips... unsure how that’s supposed to feed 3 people so we can snack on the chips and there was 15 chips there (I...counted) other than that the food was mediocre.More
This cafe, situated in the main thoroughfare of Gore appeared well patronised when we visited with an extensive selection of cabinet food and a large range of choices on the blackboard menu. My wife and I had the blue cod served with chips and salad....We had ample sized servings. The fish fish was cooked adequately but rather uninspiring. Some of the cutlery on our table was not totally clean. This place may be a good stop for those seeking a traditional muffin, scone or sandwich. It appears that they are baked on the premises. However, as visitors passing through the lower South Island and keen to sample some local fare, we were a little disappointed in the quality of our seafood brunch.More
Stopped for breakfast with a workmate and what a choice. Ended up getting the French toast with blueberries - really good, very tasty with heaps of blueberries The coffee was pretty good to .
I popped in for a bite with a group of about 10 friends. We all ordered different items from the menu and selected from the cabinet food as well. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly to our aged diners. The food arrived at our...table hot and tasty. We will be back.More
Stopped for lunch. Liked the pies. But come on what the call flatwhite is a pot of hot milk with something like coffee in it. Has nothing todo with a newzealand flatwhite.
Great selection. Was tempted to have fresh oyster soup but thought I would wait till I got to Bluff. Had a mince savoury and it was incredibly good. Also had a large latte and it was nice and warm and in a mug. Also had...a lemon meringue square. Very very good and so fresh. Place is dated but who cares as the food is better than great.More
Nice range of great food. Only went for something light. Sausage roll and a lemon meringue square which went down too fast. My mocha was still a bit on the cold side even tho I asked for it a bit hotter.
We stopped for lunch at Gore. There was an excellent selection of food at Table Talk, we will stop again. I choose a club sandwich which was well stuffed with filling. My husband had two cakes with his coffee. These squares were a generous size....Good coffee. Lots of locals coming in for lunch which is a good sign.More
