I had a cheese roll and venison pie from Oven Fresh Bakery during our stop in Gore. The cheese roll consists of a slice of white bread covered with butter and a slice of cheese. It is rolled then covered in parmesan cheese and fried. It was so yummy. The venison pie was ok. The venison was tender, but the sauce was a bit weird tasting and too thick for my taste. Fast friendly service.

Oven fresh bakery offers the freshest food stop you could wish for in Gore.
Was impressed with the staff friendliness and consistency with my overseas tourists.
Well done will for sure be back.

We consumed a pie from Oven Fresh Bakery on 2 successive evenings. The venison pie was very good indeed, but the pork pie was absolutely superb. No wonder it's an award winner. The pistachio slice is also exceptional.

We stopped in Gore to stretch our legs, and walked up the main street and came across this bakery.
We popped in, saw the doughnuts and just had to try them. They were a very good size, loaded with fresh whipped cream.
We got a coffee as well, and sat down in the bakery and enjoyed our naughty snack.🤣🤣
The rest of the food in the cabinets looked fresh and inviting.

Stop on the way to Queenstown, at mid of the town and found this cafe. The pies were great and delicious, the coffee was really good. Plenty of choices were inside of the food cabinets, one for the sweet things, and the other one for the savoury warm foods, all good. A quick and friendly services, a right place for us when have lunch break at Gore.

The Steak, Cheese and Bacon is my benchmark for pies. Just DELICIOUS!
On previous visits I've had the HUGE Boysenberry and Cream Cheese muffin, but I'd struggle to eat both in 1 sitting.
Not only are they huge, they're the sweet equivalent of the pie, just DELICIOUS!!!

This is the best bakery in the country. The meat pies are superb especially the lambs fry and bacon ones. Everything in the shop is freshly baked that morning. Magnificent!

On main street, with some free parking around the corner but paid parking out front, is this modern fitout bakery serving generic items expected. We tried pies, sausage rolls, tarts, etc. All ok, average fare. Stop here for snack or lunch break. I would drop in next time we are on in town, so recommended.

Stopped here on our way from Dunedin to Te Anau for a break. This place seemed the nicest on the Main Street. Coffee was excellent and the cakes were lovely.

Tried the pork, chicken cheese and broccoli and chicken and brie pies. Best ever! An awesome selection of slices and cakes as well means we'll go out of our way to come back again

This would have to be the best bakery I have ever been in.. we live in Invercargill and there is absolutely nothing like this at all.. the selection was amazing and the so reasonable.. the food was so fresh and delicious too! I’ll be traveling from Invercargill again in the future really soon!!!

This was a stopover in a group with AATKings but the sandwiches were not freshly made and they were soggy. We were disappointed with this.

The best pies in New Zealand!! Great coffee and friendly service, must try the Venison pie. We even ordered a dozen to pick up the next day and take home which was not problem for them to sort.

We stopped for coffee and bite to eat. It is good food like your Nana would make. Perfect fudge. Great coffee and a toastie that took it to another level! Very sad it wasn't open on Sunday when we came back through Gore!! Staff were lovely too 😊
